Straight out in front of you is the Bonneville Dam in model rail road scale. Pick the sunniest day you can and figure on a slow ascent. The hiking book we used said the last .75 miles was "steepish". For at least part of that .75 I'd drop the "ish". Bring a lunch, and relax at the top where the overall view is better than "beautifulish."

Within the first week I was thinking more clearly and the benefits have continued to grow exponentially over the years. I have a sense of calm that I didn't even know was possible. I moved to Portland a year ago and I didn't know anyone there. Someone had told me that there was a teacher there, so I decided to reach out. Cindy and Caroline were both so genuine and friendly from the first time we met. I went to several of their group meditations and the knowledge they shared always resonated with me on such a deep level. I felt uplifted mentally, emotionally, and spiritually every time. Many times I reached out to Cindy personally in between the group meditations because I was going through something and she was always so quick to respond and offer support and encouragement. I was always so uplifted after our discussions! I love this practice so much and I can't even begin to express how grateful I am to be able to move to a new city and immediately be welcomed by Cindy and members of this community. Even when Covid came, they continued to run their weekly group meditations online with zoom and still offered the same support and inspiration! I highly recommend Cindy and the practice of Vedic Meditation. Best decision I ever made.

Sprinkler system broken very little watering of arena and arena not regularly maintained. Atmosphere is not professional but cold and militant. If you are looking for a relaxing place to board your horse this is not it. If you're looking for a place where you can be rest assured your horse is the first priority and well taken care of don't come here

This park opened up officially in July '08, but has been used for years as an off-leash dog park…read more More on that later. There are 56 multi-use acres in this lovely park. The west end of the park gets the most use. This is where you will find the playground, basketball courts, 10,000 feet of extreme sports park (a favorite amongst the skateboard and BMX crowd), and the 8-acre off-leash dog park. You will also find a large covered picnic shelter here, complete with electrical outlets. The rest of the park features trails (paved and gravel), "natural" wooded areas (mostly natural), large open fields, picnic tables, 2 restrooms, and two parking lots. Now, I have to say I was not always a fan of the Parks department developing this land. As I mentioned above, for years dog owners came to this place with their dogs for safe off-leash time. About half the park was open fields and half was overgrown wooded land filled with small twisting trails. Volunteers and private citizens took care of supplying plastic poop bags and trash cans, and a disposal service to empty the trash cans. The whole park was fenced. It was terrific. About 2 or 3 years ago the Parks department announced it was going to develop the land, sans dog park. This created an uproar in the dog community. Several meetings were held in the community, and the planning went from zero acres for the dogs to 3 acres to 7 acres and finally to the 8 acres now realized. What ultimately impressed me was that the Parks Department really did listen to what people where wanting for this park. Sure, us dog owners wanted the whole park to stay 56 acres of off-leash bliss. However, that was not possible, but it was possible to make the park what we wanted. They kept the wooded areas as wild and natural as possible, while putting is a lovely trail that runs the perimeter, with fingers and legs cutting through the middle. I love to see the large group of teenagers, mostly boys, riding their skateboards and bikes at the extreme sports park. They love it, and I think it keeps them out of trouble. I do wish they would do a better job of picking up their trash. I love to see the families with their little kids at the playground having fun. And I love to see the dogs enjoying their park, complete with doggie water fountains.

The toys all seem to have a dizzying element instead of a sharp metal fun like I grew up with. I guess you can't really sue the city for cultivating a need to constantly be spinning, but you can get on them for broken bones. The dog part though, that's different. Unless you have a big dog who likes to hang out with other big dogs being kind of a dick and crapping wherever you want without your owner really caring, it's not so fun. There is crap everywhere and out of the 50 people (48 with giant dogs) or odd people I saw there, i only saw one bag. I am sure some nice polite people and dogs go there, but there was too much mounting and crapping for my taste (and my small boston terriers). We have never been to a dog park where my dog was ready to go before me until today when he was so anxious to get out of the park he found the gate before me. At one point a big dog snapped at him and the owner said "looks like your dog picked the wrong dog to mess with." The i watched said "wrong dog" take huge shit as owners walked ahead smoking and likely talking about what a pussy my dog was. Kids loved it, they will love being high for the rest of their lives (i hope not--but yeah, everything spins!).

Having had horses throughout my life, I've been in numerous barns over the decades. This is by far the most well run stable I've seen with every horse treated as though they are family. The facilities are excellent and maintained, the horses well cared for and loved, and it is a friendly, comfortable, quiet, no drama place to be. I honestly wouldn't want to keep my horse anywhere else.

I've been working out with Heather for over a month now and already I've seen incredible changes in…read moremy body. I was first introduced to Heather during the Booty Luv class at ME Fitness. After the first class I was hooked. Booty Luv is an awesome combination of dance, Pilates, yoga (plus some other stuff). It is SO fun, the hour flies by. There is upbeat music and an exciting atmosphere. Throughout the workout she explains what area you're working and why. It's an incredible work out that burns fat & builds lean muscle but also helps with flexibility and stability. (Which I need all of!) Heather's X Cycling classes and Pilates classes at ME are also highly recommended! The X Cycling class is cool because it's 30 minutes of cycling and 30 minutes of light weights, an effective way to spend an hour. I have worked with Heather as a personal trainer as well recently and it was a positive experience. She really listened to what I was hoping to accomplish and took into account that I had a lower back injury and had not worked out in a while. With that she created a personalized program that I'm still following, even after I had completed all my sessions. Heather's knowledge and communication style is topnotch. I have learned so much from her and have adopted a much more active and healthy lifestyle. I always leave her class or training feeling really good and excited to go back.
