They had a great selection of wonderful items. They also helped me with a vintage radio I had been looking to acquire for months. This one was in good condition and matched the look I was going for. Everyone was nothing but friendly. I read some of the other reviews, and my experience was the polar opposite of the negative ones.

We had a wonderful experience at Robertson's Antiques in Carmel-by-the-Sea…read more We were interested in a beautiful antique leaded glass lamp, and the senior manager spent a lot of time explaining the lamp to my wife and answering our questions. She was very patient, knowledgeable, and helpful, and she also worked with us on the price. When we came back, the owner, Nick Robertson, personally took the time to tell us more about the lamp, including its approximate age, the unsigned shade, and the Art Nouveau spelter base. What really impressed us was that he was willing to write his assessment directly on the original receipt, sign it, and confirm that, as far as he could tell, the shade and base were original to each other. This lamp was especially meaningful to us because I chose it as a gift for my wife to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. She was so happy to receive it. We wanted to find something with history and character--something we could enjoy in our home now and hopefully pass down through our family one day. This beautiful lamp felt perfect for that. We also purchased a 1909 ten-volume Guy de Maupassant book set, which made our visit even more memorable. We truly appreciated the time, knowledge, patience, and personal attention we received from everyone at Robertson's Antiques. For us, this was more than just buying an antique. We came home with a beautiful piece of history, a special anniversary memory, and something we hope will stay in our family for generations. I truly do not like doing bad reviews, but this needs to be said…read more Witnessed the woman that seemed to own the place ( dirty blonde/grey hair older) talked down to other customers and then she was very rude to my daughter husband and I. One customer wanted to buy earrings and the woman wanted to tell her a story, but the customer didn't seem to understand what she was saying. So the woman said are you even listening , then she snaps and says do you not understand English ?! . The customer said can I please buy ? So the conversation continued a little , the woman just kept talking down and said "oh, never mind you don't understand anything I'm saying. " But in such a rude tone. We were next to buy, attempted to use a card , she barked no card, and rolled her eyes. Then we all said ohh man ok, and began to look to see if we had cash, she interrupted when we just said "awhhh ok" and said "well the signs on the door, didn't you read ? It says no card under $20" . We were stunned at her tone, and she then repeated it hellla rude. [the door was propped open and the store is very packed because it's the size of a walk in closet . OFC we didn't read the little hand written sign on the propped open door ] It was incredibly ugly toned and disrespectful. We just closed our wallets and said never mind & we left. I hate bringing race up, but she definitely wasn't fond of the foreign accents . Very weird woman.

It was basically considered a beginner's collection. There aren't many stamp collectors anymore so the ones that are around are the ones that are after rare stamps and even though some of the stamps I had were old they are still considered easy to find. My husband was a doll and purchased it for me for our anniversary. Since then, we have gone in to peruse, and this last time I just wanted Michael to check the mounting of one of my rings. He not only did so, he cleaned and polished it. AND he let me try on all sorts of baubles. His store is amazing, HE is amazing, he somehow knows intrinsically what you may be interested in and willingly shows you pieces that make you swoon.
