I have visited this shop numerous times hoping to have a great experience or even a good experience and each and every single time I walk out kicking myself for giving them another chance. I've purchased a few things here and there, but nothing that I would say is worth the feeling of borderline harassment. 1- The customer service person, whom I assume is the owner watches me like a hawk each and every single time I come in here. I am never dressed in rags or look like a hoodlum. It's not the type of watching like a hawk where I'm going to be provided with amazing service, it's the type of watching to make sure I'm not going to walk away with something look. 2- Their stuff is luxury I get it, but it's still overpriced. Great small place with REAL vintage and newer luxury brands. Today they had Chanel, Balenciaga, Gucci, Prada, LV, Celine, and more. Prices are not cheap but this is quality. Handbags, shoes, clothes, some jewelry and scarves. Wished I had more time (and money) I would be a regular. The owner is a little abrasive but she warms up quickly. I don't normally review places, but I was obsessed with this cute little store. My husband and I were in Carmel for a wedding and the airline lost my luggage so I was in dire need of a dress. I was frantically running around trying to find a place and stumbled upon this gem. The employee was so helpful and so patient with me as I wasn't sure what I wanted and was super flustered. She went above and beyond to help me find the perfect dress and was not annoying with pushing different options. She was so personable and made me feel so comfortable and wasn't pushy (Ilike sometimes those stores can be). This is a must-stop during my trips to Carmel. If you're a fan of hunting for vintage gems or gently used name-brand goods at a bargain, Ritzy Ragz is an important resource. From J-Crew to Chanel, pret-a-porter to couture, they have a solid selection. You have to dig a bit for the more "youthful" styles, but I always find something to take home. The price tags may look high, but there is usually a sale going on (25% store-wide, for example). Even better, I always use their incredible Yelp Check-In offer - 50% off any regular priced item. I found this place very over priced even for consignment and so label focused, but perhaps that's a Carmel thing catering only for the rich, small store hard to see the clothes and not sorted into sizes which is a pain to have to sift through to find your size. Several months ago, I brought in a few items and I discovered they had been purchased. However, when I went into retrieve my cash the lady running the store told me they had already paid me. Ava, the store owner, and her mother have both treated me rudely every time I have gone in. They have denied me multiple times and I have never been paid properly. In the end I never got my money and I will no longer be using their business. Hi Jen, It's not that I want your business to fail, it's that I want the people to think long and hard about leaving their very expensive items (like my fur coat) in your care under supposedly good security and watching, and then have it disappear without any recourse whatsoever! It is truly a warning for others like me who trusted and because of it, lost a lot of money (nearly $1500) and have nothing to show for it. I have a hard time understanding why and how your sales staff could unlock a fur, knowing it needs extra safeguarding (like any shop that carries pricey items) and not make sure they recovered it and locked it back up! Your store can only be as good as your staff and one of your staff appears like they certainly were lax for whatever reason, on the day they allowed it to be tried on and thus be stolen. read more

Practically brand new, gorgeous DVF jacket, a Tahari skirt for practically cents on the dollar when they had their coupon day and some other goodies. A Chanel case for my glasses that I needed so badly. Their staff has always been attentive and courteous. I am sure that Carol T's was an isolated incident and we cannot rate the overall qualityf of this store because of this calculated shoplifting event. When you walk into Ritzy Rags, you're immediately greeted with a friendly welcome and an explanation of the tags that are on sale for the day. They have different colored tags that note which items are on sale. There was also an amazing $20 rack of final sale items. THere were great designer pieces on this rack too! The store has a lot of merchandise, but since it's organized by size, it makes it very manageable and you can go through the whole store in a reasonable amount of time. I found a lot of amazing designer pieces, not just your typical old school brands either like Chanel, Ferragamo, etc. But interesting newer designers like Blumarine and Nanette Lepore. I didn't end up buying anything when I visited this time, but that definitely doesn't mean I won't be back!! read more

I think it should be a normal for the sales associate to help the customers in the store. I guess I thought wrong when I came here. I found that when I came to this store i was ignored by the sales girl with the short blonde hair. She was too busy on Facebook and looking at watches to either bother to ask me or my sister if we needed any help. We asked her to help us find some dresses and she just told us 'there all organized according to size'. Okay but can you help us find clothes? On top of that I had 7 dresses in my hand and she never even thought to get us a room. BUYER BEWARE!!!! I recently purchased a Victor Costa gown from Ritzy Rags. It did, however, have a rip in it ,which I was aware of, so they offered some discount(everything in the store was 10% off). I am no seamstress, but I knew it would be an easy and inexpensive fix. Even so, I must say I was very excited about my purchase but my excitement was crushed. When I tried on the gown in front of my daughters and mother, the gown fell apart at all seams. It nearly separated from the bodice completely. I was in tears. I telephoned the shop to let them know what happened. I spoke with the owner and we agreed, after I took the dress to my seamstress I would be in contact. I took photos of the dress prior to it being mended, took it to my seamstress who intern had to reinforce the entire gown. When I went back to the store, to show them photos of what happened to the gown, and ask for some type of reimbursement for the cost of having it repaired, the owner of the store was extremely rude and very unsympathetic. A few minutes into our conversation, the mother who helped me originally, came in and was extremely defensive and also very rude. It was then 2 against 1. I sensed a third individual in the store, he stood by the door, and I immediately felt threatened. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a store. What these women know about couture they lack in customer service, sympathy, empathy, and they are completely self centered. I wasn't even asking for a full refund. A simple apology would have even been nice. I strongly discourage anyone from patronizing this store!! read more

Horrible place to sell anything, let alone a Prada handbag. I was ripped off!! . I had called after 5 weeks to inquire if my bag was sold yet. She said no and recommended I keep it in the store, not telling me they were going to reduce the price by 40% and then 25%. I would have taken my handbag back. Then to add insult to injury I see my Prada on the "sold" items online stating sold for $600.00. And she is giving me only $175.00. Then Jen informed me she wouldn't send me the little monies I was due by her "ironclad" contract promise date of the 15th of the month Today is Feb 7th .WHAT A JOKE! Do not frequent this store! i found this place charming. she was very friendly, although i did not catch her name. she was there yesterday. i was very suprised at the selection of deisgner items. but it is carmel, pebble beach. i found the store strange in its location. sort of off the beaten path. its like two blocks off of ocean, next to a really nice antique store.the designer items were amazing. usual consignment shops dont usually have this kind of array. i saw louboutin, lots of chanel, lots of gucci, some manolo blahnik, bottega veneta, even a pair of louis vuitton shoes. i cant wait to take some of my items here to consign. at least i know that they have the clientel. read more
