Great variety. Friendly service. Good prices. It was easy to find. I wish they had a better system. I'm looking for Sauterne wine and they don't know if they have it or not... Go search yourself...

Only place in Rhode Island that I found where you could buy a keg. The deposit it more than I wanted to spend but the cost of the beer itself was reasonable. They also can help bring it out to your car.

Wow this place is so busy. Of course it is the weekend before Thanksgiving but it's crazy. They had plenty of cashiers so there was no wait. They had carriages inside so you didn't have to go find yours in the parking lot. They have police out on the street stopping traffic so that you can go in and out. Otherwise I would never have stopped. A great selection. It's a little difficult because it is so crowded and the carts are so big. And it can be difficult sometimes to find someone to help you. But I would think that they would have pretty much everything you need.

They always seem to have what your looking for. I called six places before calling here for a wine I wanted-of course they had it. They always have some sort of tasting going on. Always well stocked.

This is the chucky cheese for alchohol drinking adults. They have grocery carts, which Iaughed at at first but then returned to get one myself. Tons of craft beers, wines and everything in between. Staff is super helpful. I wish they offered more sours but $164 later and I was as happy as could be.

Mask is never fully on. Not even in a publication.

The cashier was incredibly rude. She had a bad attitude, obviously didn't want to be there. I felt like she was taking it out on the customers. The older man/owner? wasn't wearing his mask right. Not a good example for staff and customers. Not protecting them. Nice store good prices. The people will keep me away

Conveniently located on Rt. 2 it's easy to drop in when running errands. Beer, wine or spirits they've got you covered. I love to try new, reasonably priced wines. If you want a $75 bottle of wine, they've got you covered. If you wany a box of wine, they still have you covered. I like the $7-$10 range and they have a large selection with bottles from California, Chile, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, etc. Local and craft beers are available, room temp or in the cooler. All the regular brands you'd expect and plenty you would not. Six pack, to case, the selection is large. So many bottles of booze! If you have a drink recipe, they most likely have the ingredient. Keep an eye on the prices-sometimes the large bottle costs less than the small. If they get a deal, they pass it on to the customer! From sparkling wine to tequila. Good prices, clean store, large selection. Definitely worth a try.

The first time I came, I hated it. The store was small and the beer selection was weak. Then came the desperate second time... I walked in to grab some quick beers before going to a friends house. He's a little bland on his tastes, so I knew I would find what I needed. As I'm looking for Shipyard pumpkin ale, an older woman walks up to me and informs me that there are more beers in the cooler in the back. I was happy that she talked to me, but I was skeptical. Sure enough, I walk in, and the Hallelujah song popped into my head. Now, the beers back there are not game changers, but it was nice to be acknowledged as a customer, and I also found some beers that I enjoy there... COLD! The wine selection is pretty decent. They are a little out dated, but you can definitely find a good alternative if you can't find the exact wine you need. It is definitely hard to stay ahead of the curve when there is a new alcoholic beverage made every day. Again, the people are very pleasant here and it is a stone's throw away when I don't feel like driving to Haxton. Love this place.

She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

The fries were great, sandwiches were also really good! Would like to come back and get one of their main dishes as they all sounded pretty good. We got the bread pudding for dessert (sorry forgot the photo) but that was really good!! Would get again.

My friend knows much more about wine than I do, so he was the decision maker for our wine choices and we ordered a 1/2 bottle of red which we both found to be very delicious. Of course, we had to try some food too and the small bites menu was perfect with something to satisfy nearly every taste. We opted for the meat charcuterie, and it was beautifully presented with enough for the two of us to share. There is also a cheese charcuterie on the menu, but unfortunately there is not an option for a combined meat and cheese plate. We sat, sipped, and tasted for a while and never felt rushed. The atmosphere was so comfortable and we'll definitely consider going back here again.

I didn't have the best time at Providence Wine Bar…read more This might sound a little haughty, but hear me out: I can drink wine at home. I can browse a liquor store & pick out a bottle that exactly fits my preferences, my mood, & my budget. I can bring it home & uncork the wine, checking the cork for freshness. I can pull out my special glassware & pour myself a glass of wine & enjoy it on my own couch. So why go out to a wine bar, if not for the wine? For me, it's for the ambience & the experience. Both of those things at Providence Wine Bar were lacking. The lights were too bright (overhead & fluorescent) & the music was too loud (& just bad). The employees seemed both bored & nervous, with not much to do to occupy themselves. I was one of the only people in the bar, so I felt like I was under scrutiny - I'm certain this wasn't intentional but it was unfortunately how it came across. I brought a book but couldn't focus because of the lights & the music. I even caught myself with my fingers in my ears, trying to muffle the sounds of 2010s hyper pop. I have nothing against 2010s hyperpop, it's just that there's a time & place for everything, & maybe that isn't at a wine bar at 8 PM on a Wednesday. I just wanted to be done with my glass of wine so that I could leave. All of that being said, I wish them the best. It seems like they need a good manager's touch.

I am really sorry to do this ... I truly, truly am ... because I hate to besmirch a locally owned…read morebusiness but the prices here are just absolutely fucking bananas! I get that EG is a pretty expensive town ... and normally I don't mind paying a little extra to support a local business but there are bottles of spirits in here that are $20 higher than other liquor stores for the same thing!!! Literallyz I paid $20 more than Haxton's in Warwick for the same item! That is a sort of extreme case ... but on average expect to pay $10 more for any bottle of liquor ... and $4 - $5 more for any 6 pack of craft beer than any other store in the area. Forget about comparing this place to a Total Wine, you can literally save 40% on most items shopping there vs. here. I honestly don't think I've ever seen prices this high on liquor/wine ... Not in midtown Manhattan. Not in my home of West Hollywood, CA. I won't be totally brutish ... they do have a very nicely curated selection of wines and spirits here. You aren't going to find any allocated items here ... No Weller, No Blanton's, No Pappy, etc. but they have a decent selection of bourbon, spirits and a huge amount of pre-mixed cocktails and mixers. They have craft beer ... local and far away brands ... fancy ciders, saki and other interesting but niche selections of expensive single craft bottles. The store is immaculately clean and organized well. It may be the most expensive liquor store I've ever been in but it's also maybe the most well organized. The staff isn't particularly interested in going out of their way to help you. But, if you ask them a question about wines, etc. they will make some good recommendations if they aren't too busy doing something else. I will end by saying that I was in a rush to buy liquor and wine for a dinner party that my house hosts were having. I wasn't looking too carefully at the receipt because I figured everything was just so expensive, it is what it is. However, when I got home, I found out one of the bottles I bought must have been put in the wrong place. They charged me $84 for a bottle that costs $59 anywhere else. It was next to a sign that said $65. For 8 bottles of liquor and wine and a 4-pack of craft beer, I paid more than I did for my first car in 2005. Not even kidding.
