Monte Vista Intermediate School - High

Review #300. Class…read moreof 1999. Back in my day, middle school was seventh and eighth grade. I don't understand this sixth-grade-is-middle-school nonsense. NONSENSE. I remember thinking I was so smart being in honors history. Honors language arts. Algebra 1. Spanish 1. Ooooh I'm sooooo smart. Also, I never understood why kids who sucked up to their teachers here at Monte Vista were called "Smacks." I still don't get it. Oh, and PE. PE was the shit. We played cool things like team handball... and a foot-based volleyball game like sepak takraw... and paddle tennis. We also did a schoolwide cookbook, which was supposed to be a math project because it involved calculating the macronutrients and calorie values per serving, but I feel like no one really did the math except for me... Oh, and we did a music revue of America. Going west. In a covered wagon. Me and Mamie O'Rourke. Fifty nifty United States. Got to got to get us some elbow room. Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home. And don't get me started on Renaissance trips to Magic Mountain. We destroyed that place. We're the reason I hate Magic Mountain now. I hate eighth graders at theme parks. So much. But I digress. What a weird experience middle school was. And to think it was over ten years ago... Red and black for life.

It makes me want to shove my toes in my mouth and suck them until they are numb. Math teacher is cool though shout out Mrs knecht. She is goated. Also school food is usually nasty except every table especially the grilled cheese some kid found a cockroach in there. PE is tuff. Science is not only sometimes.

We were looking for a Montessori school for my two year old son and we're glad that we chose CPMS…read more It's close to our home in Camarillo and is located in a really convenient location. The best part, is that my son is starting to speak more words and sing songs when he is at home. Thank you Kathy, Yesi, and other teachers as well! The school also has a dance class that I enrolled my son in. He loves it and that makes us happy.

At the very beginning of the month my daughter was suspended for behavior even though I believe the teacher mishandled the situation. I decided to pull her from the school since it was her last month and I was told I would be refunded for the tuition I paid for May, nearly $1,200 since she only attended 2 days that month. When my follow up calls weren't actively being ignored I was told by office staff that the director Kris handled financing and would call me back. This went on for months before I gave up on being refunded. Months later I'm still upset with how they handled the situation. They discussed my personal information with my family who also had a child enrolled and even issued her a partial refund when she parted ways early, but not me. I feel disrespected by the situation and because of that I would never recommend this daycare to anyone I know personally.

I like this Prometric. I have been to 3 now for various certifications and I like this location…read more Jeremiah, the manager, is clear and helpful. The location is clean and pretty spacious and bathrooms are not too far to get to if you need a break. I have an injury, so sitting is painful and they were able to let me bring a heat pack (no plug). The thing is - which I did not know - and you may have trouble with - you can't adjust stuff - in other words - you can't be moving around too much and moving a sweater on and off and behind your neck for support and so on. Can't kick your sandals off and sit cross legged. That kind of stuff - which can be extremely difficult when sitting for long periods. The rules are strict. If you are comfortable with a highly compliant environment though and you follow the rules, you should be good. I recommend bringing a bottle of water and a snack if you will be sitting for a long time. You can leave it outside of the room. Don't go for a break unless someone is at the desk, you'll have to wait if they are not there. You get screened every time you leave and re-enter and you need to sign in and out. Bring a sweater. Thankfully they keep it cool enough in there to keep people awake. Brains work best at 69-72 degrees I have heard. Good luck!

My review is WAY overdue. We've been with Tutorific since December of 2019 and today is May 1st,…read more2025. Our kids start Tutorific at age 4 and continue until they begin 1st grade. There is no magic time, it's what we have decided is right for our kids. We utilize the reading program. Our oldest son, Evan ultimately worked on math too. He was in kindergarten via Zoom and struggled a bit. His tutor, Will started helping with the math and then all was good!!! Evan is currently in 4th grade. Our oldest daughter, Grace loved coming and playing the games with Matt. Playing games is one of many ways Tutorific teaches kids. She still asks me to play the reading games with her from time to time. Grace currently in 1st grade. Our 4.5 year old, Joey reads with the owner, Matt twice a week. He's in preschool and can easily sound out 6 letter words. Joey reads over 400 words by sight. Tutorific has a reward system in place. You reach certain milestones and go to the "PRIZE WALL!" Joey adores the prize wall. A reward system really helps Joey stay on track. It's amazing having kids that can read at such a young age. Our baby, Olivia can be found playing with toys and running around the Tutorific lobby twice a week while big brother, Joey is strengthening his reading skills. She'll start in a few years! I took screenshots of facebook posts my wife or I have posted over the years. I have so many wonderful things to say, I don't know what to write. I decided sharing our personal posts written for our family and friends would give you the best bird's eye view of how much we love Tutorific. We are moms who have feel like Tutorific is more than a place to help kids with homework. They have helped our kids learn to read but more importantly they helped our kids LOVE reading. A gift that keeps on giving for a lifetime. Matt and his staff are absolutely amazing.

Dario has been so patient with him, helping him stay focused and making learning feel manageable and positive. Even more amazing, my youngest son (who is just 4 years old) is learning how to read after I watched the progress of his brother. He usually has a hard time going to regular school or childcare, but somehow he absolutely loves going to tutoring and is always excited to bring his work box. He loves that Mr. Mat plays reading games and makes learning fun. The encouragement and connection they build with the kids make such a huge difference. We are so grateful to have found this place. They also moved to a new facility down the street which looks great. There is a comfortable sitting area and also a bonus yard for parents or students to sit for fresh air and greenery. Definitely recommend this place.
