The kids love going to the school there. We appreciate that, in addition, to regular classes, they offer music and art programs. The girls have progressed well academically. The oldest granddaughter has taken advantage of special opportunities such as chorus and the school's announcements. The school building itself is somewhat dated, but surprisingly immaculate inside and out. We have been in the cafeteria and auditorium/gym for programs. The music programs and other special performances are top notch and inclusive. The accommodations are adequate. Outside, the playground facilities are very nice, typical of Carmel. The playground has climbing structures, swings, slides, basketball courts and fenced in structures for younger kids. The kids maintain a small vegetable garden on the grounds.

Visited here for a basketball game. The gym is decent in size, but compared to other gyms is very…read moredim. My son complained about how dark it was while we were playing. Luckily we got the win, but I could see how that can affect the play and atmosphere. The refs called the game pretty fairly. Bleacher seating was sufficient for the crowd. The parking lot isn't very big at this gym, and could fill up quickly, but I got here early. The athletic door was not clearly labeled, so I followed where the players went in. If this venue hosted a larger event, parking would be a problem.

From day one, our children have been encouraged to grow both academically and socio-emotionally. I love the values-based curriculum and inclusive chapel time--where all faiths are truly celebrated; I've even attended Yom Kippur and Diwali services there. My active son enjoys P.E. three times a week, and my daughter thrives on the frequent, hands-on field trips. We're also excited about the unique French Exchange program offered in 5th grade Even Chef Andy's fresh, delicious lunches have inspired my picky eaters to try new foods! We couldn't be happier with our transition to St. Richard's. (One caveat: my children don't have special needs, I can't speak personally to the school's special education resources.)

They are involved in sports, drama, etc. and love the activities and their classes. Bethesda is solidly Christian, but it has an open enrollment (meaning, you don't have to profess Christianity to enroll). Each student does, however, have to abide by a code of conduct, which keeps a morality on campus that you will not find elsewhere. The staff and administration love the students and love God. They are there for the right reasons. There are many Christian schools out there, but this one has stayed true to God's Word. We could not be happier here.

I'm glad to have the background of Christian education (because now I actually care about my religion), but they definitely turned me off to Christianity for a few years because of their strict and superfluous rules. I still love most of the teachers at Bethesda but that horrible "steering committee" has to change!

St Matthew's has a great Pre-K program! We are not Catholic but my daughter goes here 3 days a…read moreweek. She loves it! She has a ton of fun and learns without realizing that is what she is doing. They have play based curriculum which is perfect for 4-5 year olds. The staff is fantastic and caring. My husband passed away during the school year and I know that the teachers have taken extra care of my daughter and really have given her a safe place to express her sadness and thoughts. I would highly recommend the program.
