He was able to escape the harness and run for home and luckily someone was there to quickly open the door for him and close it before the other dogs caught up. Our dog had 6 puncture bites. My son-in-law took the ring video and made a complaint that day. Still no action by the PD's animal control officer. Apparently it is a "rotating" position and can take 7-10 days. And these dogs li e across from a city park that is full of little kids playing soccer and people with their dogs. Unacceptable. Crime is NOT that high in RO so what are they all doing?

During large snowfalls each year in Southeast Michigan I am reminded of the one and only…read moreinteraction I had with the Ferndale Police Department during the five years my wife and I called the city home. We lived in a flat where we had no access to the home's driveway, meaning we were always forced to street park. During 'Snow Emergencies' as called by the city, residents were supposed to move their vehicles to designated parking areas off the roads to ease the efforts of snow plows. After a few years of the process, we continued to move our vehicles in Snow Emergencies despite the number of vehicles that remained parked on the street, and snow plows often not arriving until extremely late in the day, following days, or sometimes at all. Our street was not a major thruway and was tucked away so that never seemed unjust. One late night while visiting family a 'Snow Emergency' was called and as we made it home we parked our vehicle in the designated lot a few blocks a way. Trudging through the snow back home we noticed a plow had already done work on our street, effectively plowing our other car as well as several others into where it was parked. Given the time, evidence of a plow already coming by, and the impossible state of my vehicle locked into place we went to bed with the intention of moving the vehicle in the morning if the 'emergency' had not yet been lifted. Heading out the next morning I found as you may have guessed - a ticket from the FPD for not moving the vehicle in a 'Snow Emergency'. Did I break that law? Absolutely. That was never a point I took issue with. What was really the problem for me was as I walked back from finally freeing my vehicle and moving it to the lot, I noticed the block next to ours had no tickets on the clearly never-moved vehicles. The streets next to ours? Also no tickets. As was the style at the time I posed a question around the enforcement of this law to the FPD on Twitter, constructing a logical layout for my concerns. Their response was to essentially make a mockery of the situation, my concern, and ended with a demand to just pay the ticket. I did not expect any response at all. Really it was my hope the fine people of the Ferndale Police Department had more important things to do than cruise Twitter. There are 1000 ways a response could have been handled that were not trying to score internet points on a citizen. Some of my motivation to take this to Twitter was to release the frustration of the situation, but I genuinely was interested in the why behind the inconsistent enforcement of the law. I will always defer to the idea there is probably a good reason for something operational I do not understand. But I did not get a good reason - I got a ticket and a bad interaction. I always felt very safe in Ferndale and so many wonderful events occur in the city with the assistance of the department. It is a shame this will be my lasting impression of them.

Except for one little hitch. Someone missed something which meant I had to chase one more thing before the magic happened. It took a little effort and missing a couple of busses, but I eventually got what I needed. I wasnt so sure that I had the proper thing so a quick call to the unit confirmed that I had what I needed. In a matter of seconds, Officer Lewis processed me and got me on my way. I am now officially Detroit's newest cab driver. I promise to give 5 star service to all, even you Yelpers. ;) Some of you can be so cranky!!!! She could have made me do the whole thing over again, but she didnt and I was grateful for it. A…read morefew years back, I was riding my bike at night, and there was an inebriated man who stopped on this motorcycle bike to talk to me, became upset after our interaction and proceeded to run his bike right into mine, after I fell off I got up and ran to the side while he kept doing it repeatedly and drove off to a house down the street. I called the Police and when they finally got there, they said there's nothing they can do. I even told them where the house was that he drove to and they still did absolutely nothing. So they left while I was on the side of the road at night with a broken bike. There are a couples more instances, but, it would be much too long to type. I do not feel safe and protected in Mount Clemens because the police do whatever they please, and they are allowed to do so. In conclusion, I am moving out of Mount Clemens as soon as I can.
