The tasting room is beautiful, the wines were very good, and the impact of the conversations you have with an owner who is extremely engaging totally make the experience that much more special. What a delightful experience. We arrived just 20 minutes before closing, but the owner welcomed us in with a smile. We never felt the rush to move along. We had such a wonderful conversation about their family, their history, the winery, etc. We got to meet the winemaker Izzy, who was just as lovely and engaging. We couldn't have had a more enjoyable time. The wines were wonderful, but the atmosphere, decor, music, and personal interaction, were above and beyond. We highly recommend Hazelefern Cellars. I love this winery. If you're a fan of Chardonnay, it is a must visit. On top of the winery being an absolutely beautiful converted barn, Laura, the owner is super personable and friendly. It's very rare that a winery owner will greet you at the door and pour your wine. Great conversation and very informative staff. The venue is tops for me; I really loved the setup and views of the vineyard. A couple of the best Chardonnay's I've ever tasted; they're worth the price point. Not family friendly! Avoid! We arrived with our children and we're told that children are not allowed and that it is stated on the confirmation - which it is not. We were told it's a working vineyard - Patricia Green is as well and we were there yesterday and everyone was doing bubbles with our kids. This is ridiculous to see such a terrible, anti-family policy. Take my advice and go to Patricia Green. read more

Our hostess Mesmery was personable, friendly, knowledgeable and funny! Unique venue set in a horse stable created for show horses and memorable wines - we tried their Rose, blended Pinot, Robinson Family Pinot and Rock Block Chardonnay all worthy of club membership. Stopped by as the first stop in a 3 stop wine tour. The owner and staff did not come off being very inviting. The wines were just ok to good, but the tastings were very, very tiny for a $25 tasting fee. Fee waived for every 3 bottles. Other stops were Trisaetum and Resonance which were both excellent. read more

Laura and Brian are amazing people doing amazing things!!! With soooo many new wineries constantly opening up daily, it's hard to catch them all. Hazelfern was a must on my list when I heard of them opening last Fall. I saw the barn a few years ago going up, and knew is would be a gorgeous property. Laura and Brian relocated to the area from Portland and opened up Hazelfern. They are apt only, unless you catch one of their open houses during a holiday weekend... as with most apt only wineries, they are usually open to the public Memorial weekend and Thanksgiving weekend. The biggest weekends for wineries. Hazelfern sources their grapes from all over, they have vines on their property that are only a few years old, I can't wait to try their estate wine years from now! Last Fall they had a Winter Rose that was very good, a little heavier for winter dishes. Their summer Rose is lighter and perfect for summer patio sippin! Of course they also make a few Pinot's and Chardonnay. All are great! The tasting room is gorgeous!! You would have never known it used to be home to horses. A newer barn, decorated tastefully, not country like.... it's very welcoming. Laura is the sweetest too! She has a great personality, that makes you feel like you're hanging out with old friends! If your lucky to meet her husband Brian, the winemaker, he is also very nice! Put Hazelfern on your tasting list now! Skip the big over the top wineries and visit Laura and Brian! read more

Hazelfern is one of my favorite places to go in the valley. They have this pristine yet totally styled never-used-by-livestock horse barn with fabulous views of Newberg just above the Allison Inn. Bryan and Laura are down-to-earth humans that make great wine with a killer brand. Their playlist is fire, vibe is chill, and they always make us feel comfortable by matching our energy. I LOVE going to boutique wineries because I get to know the people and their story, and this is no different. The whole family gets involved and as a parent, I really appreciate that. Hazelfern Cellars is one of my favorite wineries to visit in the area. Not only are Bryan & Laura two of the nicest people you'll ever meet, but their wines are fantastic as well. We came in with a group of 8 people. Judging by the other reviews we may have just caught this winery on a bad day. The tasting room is refurbished stable that is very charming but this was about the only thing pleasant about our visit. The service just didn't feel welcoming, we felt like we were keeping them from other guest. There was little to no explanation on the wines we were tasting, just the kind of wine and year and then we were left on our own. They didn't seem busy but perhaps there was something going on out of our sight. We were all put off by the 3 bottle minimum to offset only 1 tasting fee. Came in for my birthday with a group of friends and we were well taken care of by owner Laura. The property is so gorgeous and the tasting room is in an old converted barn.
