Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff in both the garden and aquarium centre. I can recommend the gardening bit as I have never grown any vegetables and with the advice from 1 of the staff this year managed to grow a bumper crop of tomatoes and lettuces in my kitchen window. They also have a pretty good stock of tropical fish and all the bits and pieces that you need to successfully run a tank. My mum also informs me that the outdoor pond bit is very good too. Ample parking available.

I've had the odd pot of tea before, but on my last visit I decided to try the food. The menu consists of tried and tested favourites (that is fine by me) I opted for a macoroni cheese with a side salad and garlic bread. There was a bit of a wait to be served, it was lunch time and the restaurant was quite busy. You order your food at the cash desk, and you are given a number. I found a table and sat down. There was a little delay for the food, but it was worth it. It was quite a generous portion and it tasted delicious, so good in fact, that I would like the recipe! Perhaps not an ideal place for a leisurely lunch, it can get quite hectic at lunch time, but I can recommend the food - give it a try.

I also love Yankee candles and I have now discovered I can combine these two things when I come here. A very nice place with lots of non garden things to buy as well as the usual spades and plant pots. A very good range of Yankee candles (Mr Datcat was not happy about this, but never mind eh) and on the left past the tills they have a range of foodstuffs including yummy cakes. We didn't go to the coffee shop though, but a quick smell and look over did tempt us, but we held out today. Next time though we might have to give in to the lure of coffee. Plenty of friendly staff around and on the tills. Parking is a plentiful so this place is recommended.

great morning out. loads of choice and invaluable advice from Chris and his team. on site also is a…read morecoffee shop, craft shop and the ponderosa pet shop. you can buy veggies grown on site by Chris' butterfly gang, special needs young people that attend the centre every week to tend to their growing projects. a proper community place, well worth a visit. look out for special themed days like potato day. dundries is a bit of an institution round here, so support your local garden centre, much for fun and atmousphere than B&Q clones.

I have used this garden centre for plenty of purchases over the years and I have grown to really…read morelike them. They have a good aquatics department and plenty of last minute gift ideas. They are a little expensive but then I think all garden centres are really and you are paying for the browsing experience and the service which on this occassion is very good. I have twice had problems with things I have bought from them (outside of their control) and they have been very helpful and prompt in their willingness to help which makes a nice change from some garden centres I've visited and all done with a smile. In a nutshell - a bit expensive but worth the extra for the good customer service and good ambience.
