I'm a huge lover of bookstores like this. I love to support independently and locally owned anything... but books are one of my favorite things so I'm pretty passionate about a local and independently owned bookstore. And by pretty passionate I mean way over the top, want to hug and kiss the owners, profess my undying love passionate. This little bookstore features a carefully selected mix of local authors and regionally highlighted books. It's sleek and airy and well lit. You'll also find notecards, postcards, poetry journals and a warm welcoming vibe here. Their logo though, is what really got me. A mermaid reading a book. Hello, adorable. If you fall in love with that logo as hard as I did, there are totes and tees printed with her on them for sale here as well. Sigh. Support this wonderful little place please!

They had a couple shelves full of books by local authors right up front.... like they knew I was coming. I also bought a book about the blues, being that I was just footsteps from 61 Highway.... a major artery of blues history in Mississippi. My wife got a little teary eyed as she walked around the Museum telling me story after story about this Doll, and this Toy, that she used to have back in her child hood days. It is a great collection, and a very nice Museum to see. This is definitely a must see attraction in Vicksburg.

A fascinating story concerns a doll that belonged to a Jewish girl at the time of WWII. Apparently, the doll has been known to move and was featured on "Ghost Adventures." Although I enjoyed looking at dolls such as "Tiny Tears," which I'd had as a child, the antique dolls, and an assortment of Barbies, I also found the place to be quite eerie--maybe all those dolls in one place.

He takes his time with you, and he is very detailed in your care. I found his manner very relaxing and he exudes a warmth that shows he cares about his patients. He put contacts in my eyes, then re examed me again and again trying to find the comfortable contacts for me because I suffer so with allergies which affect my vision. He did not stop until he had the perfect match for me in my visit. He is just so wonderful. The staff is friendly and smiling when you come in and the office is beautiful. Every time I checked the price of something it was lower than I thought it would be (although, granted, I don't know much about antiques). The owner was super helpful and knowledgable. Great location; downtown Vicksburg is so fun to just walk around in and stop by the different stores and do some shopping. Can't wait to return!

This is the location where the first Coca Cola was bottled back in the 1800s. You literally see the transition of all the Coca Cola advertising and memorabilia as you walk through the displays. Lots of artifacts and interesting information. There is a little shop where you can purchase souvenirs, gifts, and even a Coke float! Definitely check it out and read through some (or all!) of the history. Pretty cool stuff. And I don't even like Coca Cola! Cheers!!!

Seeing as this was where Coca-Cola was bottled for the first time, there is a lot of history here. I am so glad I did come, and I recommend this for anyone in the area.
