Principle Law is a firm of Solicitors and Higher Court Advocates that deal with civil matters... so…read morewe're not talking criminal cases here! What they actually specialise in is commercial and personal legal matters. A friend of mine consulted one of the solicitors at this practice a while back about what he could do about being laid off. He felt that he had a case for unfair dismissal because the company he worked for let him go as part of their efforts to make cut backs, but continued to employ colleagues who had worked for the company for less time. He was given a free half hour session to discuss the matter and found that he was given all of the advice that he needed without needing to book a further appointment. It was ultimately decided that he had no grounds for a case as he did not possess the same skills and experience as his colleagues, and this was the most likely cause of them being retained. I think that the fact that solicitors offer free advice to people like my friend is wonderful. He would not have been able to afford to pay for it otherwise. Here's a list of the areas that Principle Law covers: Commercial: Employment and disputes: This includes offering advice on employment law, as well as dispute reconciliation and advocacy where possible, leading to litigation and dispute resolution if diplomacy doesn't work. Business start ups: Offering the client advice on how to register the business, e.g. as a limited company, sole trader or a partnership etc. Contractual issues, including the method by which a company decides to trade with other companies etc etc.. Banking issues and insolvency Health and Safety Licensing Personal matters: Individual employment issues (e.g. unfair dismissal, salary disputes etc.) Immigration Appeals Wills and Probate Personal Insolvency
