The only reason I've stopped going to her is because I moved out of state. And let me just say that finding a new hairstylist that lives up to the expectations I have after going to Alison for years is proving extremely hard. I've had almost everything imaginable done (long cuts, short cuts, bangs, color, highlights, waxing, updos, and probably more that I've forgotten over the years), and everything Alison has done was absolutely perfect. My sister and mom also get Alison to cut their hair (and have for years) and loves her as well. The other stylists at Creative Edge are just as good. My husband got Jessica to cut his hair for years and always had good things to say. The prices are *very* reasonable; in fact, in comparison to prices in the city where I live now, I'd consider them cheap. A cut and style from Alison was $28 when I last went (January 2015), and a cut and style + one or two colors of streaks was $60. My husbands cut from Jessica was $17. If you are looking for a new hair salon, I highly recommend going to Creative Edge!

They suggested an appointment 6 hours later. I asked about all of the other time slots. They said no. At this price point, I'd expect more. I want to start out by saying the service was great, and by that I mean the people working there…read morewere nice and friendly even for it being so early in the am. Unfortunately my haircut was not at all what I asked for. I offered to show a few photos and if a barber says "yea sure let me see them" then as a customer I'm taking that to mean that you don't have an issue with what I'm showing. Nothing but "yea sure no problem" to the photos/examples that were shown yet somehow the haircut I received was very disappointing. Too much of my hair was taken off. I was very specific in asking for a shaped/rounded/contoured look to follow my head yet somehow that translated to some sort of box looking style. As far as length taken off I don't understand how anything I showed translated to going at least 1-2" shorter all over than what was shown. By the time the inevitable "how are we doing? How are we liking it so far" came along it was unfortunately too late. Ultimately while I do appreciate the service I am just dumbfounded as to what the disconnect must be in explaining what haircut I would like. I go out of my way to do some online research and I provide descriptors like "layered, shaped fade but with some length and a style that contours symmetrically around my head" and somehow I'm still not saying the right things apparently. Hopefully in the future i will be able to find a place that can do what is asked for. Of course at the end of the day if there's anything my hair does it's growing back so this wasn't meant to be some whine fest as much as only just an honest critique.
