When I receive my sweater a couple of days ago, I could tell it had already been worn. The tags to tell you how to care for the garment were cut out. also noticed there was not a label in the back of the sweater stating the name of the company or the type of fabric. Extremely disappointed and I'll never shop at this company again. read more

Poor customer service. Four counter assistants at the counter focusing on one customer. Not a hello or welcome or acknowledgement. I wanted to try a shirt on but no one would assist. Went next door to Montana Silversmith where I received a warm greeting and assistance and walked out with three shirts and a couple of pieces of jewelry. Montana silvers Smith gain your loss. I won't return. and I'm in the customer service business where I manage hotels where people who come to the area are asking for places to go, and I won't recommend this place because of the cold shoulder received. read more

I am so excited about my new finds!!! Johnny & June's at Head West in Bozeman has amazing choices! I walked in and my mouth went opened. This was just priced and ready for the shelf!! NOPE!!! We came in from out of town for the weekend. I already had a Stetson hat but my wife was still in search of her first hat and pair of boots. Not only did we find them for her but we also found me a pair of boots which are not easy for me. Braden was amazing in not only helping us find hats, boots, shirts, accessories, etc but also in educating us on how to find the best fit and take care of the gear we just bought so they last us for years to come. They only carry high quality gear and don't confuse that with expensive. I think its some of the best value clothing we have bought for the style we were looking for. We will definitely stop by there again next time we are in town. read more

Their clothing is nice. The big reason why we have had a hard time with this place is due to there consignment shop. Multiple times we've tried to make appointments to exchange our used clothes for store credit and they've always been short and extremely rude about it. Also, they low ball everything. While they do have some cowboy and western themed consignment items downstairs (including a lot of cool broken-in cowboy boots at $75 - $150+), it's mainly a hipster western wear shop with new retail-priced clothing and accessories. Very lovely if that's what you're looking for--but not a thrift store! read more

I got a really kick ass bracelet here made of silver and white buffalo stone. In fact they had a ton of really cool jewlery here! It's pretty kitchy inside lots of Western clothes, cool artwork, and souvenirs. I also got a really cute Bozeman t-shirt. The girl behind the register was really cool and helpful. Where do I begin?! The display immediately sees you in with its mix of vintage and modern décor. I lived in Bozeman for many years and upon my return for a visit was thrilled to see downtown revitalized with many wonderful shops. This place was great!! Inside, a wonderful mix of western wear, body products, boots, jewelry, and locally made crafts. Downstairs is the vintage apparel and accessories, which is impeccable! The vintage selection consists of the best quality clothing, shoes, and accessories! I could shop all day in this beautiful store and find something new and unique at every turn. Head West was the first store I dropped some cash at after moving to Montana. They have über hip western wear, including kick-ass cowboy boots, belts, great vintage shirts and lovely dresses. The boutique is broken up into 3 parts: the front houses all the new stuff, the back contains all the vintage and gently worn goods (many high end young brands such as ella moss, splendid, trina turk) and the bargain basement where I scored an awesome dress for $8.00! It's a really fun store with something for everyone. I also like that while they lean heavily towards western wear, they have other stuff if western is not your style. And they seem to stay away from the gaudy or super trendy stuff. Some of the new stuff can be a bit pricy but I have yet to regret any purchases I have made...and given the $5 shirts and $8.00 dresses, a bit of a mark up on the new stuff is fine by me. read more

I reluctantly entered this store thinking it was going to be 'another cowboy' store but it was actually delightfully different with new things, old things and some things very reasonably priced! If I needed a silver belt buckle, I'd head here for sure! read more

Just want to say how awesome this place is. They have very cute modern western wear which is totally my style! They also do consignment but it is very well done. Very classy and they give you good value for your things. Every single one of the staff has been very nice and taken the time to answer all my questions. They even have kids wear that is so adorable. Really neat feel the moment you walk in the door1 Yes, as another reviewer here stated, there is only a 14 day return policy - and for store credit only. Anyone who has owned a small retail clothing shop can understand the reasons (which are too many to list here) for this. Trying to return an item which was purchased 3 months ago means (for the owner) putting an item back on the shelf out of season and past its prime selling window...aka - now a clearance item... read more

I am very disgusted with Head West and how they handled a certain situation today! For Christmas my Sister-in-law and I got my Brother, who was at the time serving our country over seas a very nice jacket. He sadly missed the Holiday season and did not get home until February. When he returned home to Washington where he is stationed he tried the jacket on and found it one size too small. He finally made it back to Montana this weekend with the jacket so he could return it. We went in this afternoon and we explained that he was over seas for 6 months and could not make it back to return it in time, but the owner was very short and not willing to work with us at all because they have a strict 14 day return policy, which we were never told but were just showed at the bottom of the receipt in very fine print. All she was willing to do was give us a store credit for a fraction of the $178 retail price, even though she would not be losing any money by giving us store credit for the original price. I understand these policies are there for a reason but as a business owner myself, I would have handled it different. I believe that exceptions can be made when the situation calls for it, and when a loyal customer returns home from serving our country for Memorial Day weekend and could not make it back in time to return his jacket, you do everything in your power to work something out, and in the owner's case, she could have done a lot more, but simply chose not to. What ever happened to good customer service? Our family will never go back. read more
