As a local i have been in many times. I purchased a product after asking for the help of the associate. The product worked two weeks. I take it back and am told(by the owner mind you)that it's my problem i bought a product from china?!uuuuhhhhh Ok?your associate(who was very nice)showed me the product after i asked what he suggested. The Owner was very rude and condescending. He took zero responsibility for an item not only sold there but suggested to me. In the end i left with a bad taste in my mouth and unfortunately will not be returning to this location. Lost my business&i will be passing my experience on to friends and locals that may want to avoid making a purchase by a place that doesn't back their products! read more

By far the best selection of water pipes in all of tahoe, dont let the shack like outside fool you! They are not overpriced like many of the shops at the lake. Friendly employees have a good knowledge of their products and are more than willing to show and let you handle the pieces. After searching just about all of Northern Nevada's smoke shops, I finally found Heads Up. I found exactly the piece I was looking for [a scientific style, foot and a half, double honeycomb perc w/ an inlay and an ice pinch] priced $50 cheaper than anywhere else. It's one of the newer shops in town. The building itself is a really cool old A frame house right off of Highway 50. They have a huge selection of glass, and they also offer all the environmentally friendly rolling papers. read more

They were cool guys in the place, very friendly and knowledgeable. However, I bought a battery for my cartridge and it didn't' work even once. I charged it overnight, and it can't provide a single hit afterwards. Very disappointing. read more

This place is a small little shack type store with tons and tons of specialty items. All for a good price in differently areas of the store. For the "tobacco" items/tools looked pretty cool with the designs and to see peoples "artistic" ways in designing pieces. The real detailed ones were waaayyy expensive. People were nice and helpful to the friends really interested in some tool/items. I would come back again if in town, I mostly like will do to my friends favorite hobbie...hahaha. read more

Horrible horrible! Idiots work there and the owner is no where to be found ever... they told me there was no way i could ever speak to a owner or manager because they never come in, which means i can never exchange or get a refund on a bong i bought that doesnt work! 60 bucks gone on a piece that cant be used! Rediculous! Ill never go back... way too many other great tobacco and pipe shops around this area... lesson learned! read more

This is my favorite store in South lake tahoe. Great service and somehow has everything a aguitarist needs in a town with no music stores.

Not to thrilled with this head shop. Been buying there for years, I recommend all my friends even from different states to go there. I just went there yesterday to get a 16" water pipe, I found one with a case I liked close to $200 total, I noticed a crack on the bowl warts. Asked for some sort of local discount, response was I'll only do discount if you have cash. Really who just carries around $200. $200 later I got a broken bowl and horrible customer service. I'll take my money to a more customer friendly shop that's all for there customers not money and selling broken glass. read more

I would like to take this time to give A BIG HEADS UP about Heads Up. It seems that there are some questionable things going on there. I called inquiring about products to pass a hair follicle test,( I want to apply for a job that required a drug test) The person on the other side of the phone (male) told me that they did not have such a product, and if they did, I'd have to ask for it the correct way. Seeing the error of my ways, I asked the clerk, who ever he was, for some hair shampoo that would leave my hair clean and shinny. He then told me about a product that they carried, that no one has complained about. I later learned that he sold,( I didnt see the transaction, but I have paperwork,) my phone number off of the caller ID. Let me sum this up, keeping my reasons fo even considering such a product out of the deal. YOU ARE GOING TO SELL ME A PRODUCT, AND THEN TELL ON ME? Good lookin out HEADS UP!
