Stopped by after we saw a flier at Heidi's. Greeted by the workers there and started chatting about the military. They're huge veteran supporters and will give you a discount! One of the guys father was a master guns and served 4 tours in vietnam. They also have a nice challenge coin collection near their register. Unfortunately it was mostly navy coins and only a couple marine coins but it was awesome to see. I'll definitely bring them a coin next time to add to their collection. We had both of our boys get a full set of boots, snowboards, and helmets. I also had our boards in our car which we brought in for a free wax. Insurance was only $2 each set so definitely get that. Returning the gear got pretty busy closer to closing time. If you can return earlier, that'd be best to avoid the congestion in their small lot. They were really efficient though and drop off was easy. We'll be back for future rentals and I'll make sure I have a challenge coin on me to add to their collection. read more

Extremely friendly staff with very fair prices for rentals! Couldn't recommend enough. We came here and rented performance skis and snowboard packages. Keith gave good recommendations for equipment and was very friendly. When we checked out, they gave us a $5 per package discount (just let them know before you pay). Philip suggested we pay for insurance for $2 per package. We agreed with how affordable it was. Usually rental insurance ranges between $5-$10. Good thing we did because I ended up breaking my ski pole. They were very nice about it when I returned it and apologized. We'll be coming back next time we're in South Lake Tahoe! read more

I rented a snowboard from this place, and the strap snapped before I even hit the slopes, forcing me to trek back down the mountain on foot. This was not only inconvenient but extremely dangerous had it happened while I was on the slope. When I contacted them, they promised to comp the rental for the inconvenience and suggested I check the repair spot on the slopes. I managed to get it fixed, but upon returning the board, they refused to take responsibility for the broken strap, claiming it could be my fault. Let alone the fact that I had to go through the hassle of getting it fixed, i also wasted hours on the slope. While the place may be cheap, I strongly advise spending your money elsewhere and choosing a place that values customer satisfaction and stands by their commitments. I'm just gonna fight it with my credit card company as fraud. read more

Marty and another individual helped us. Marty was quite friendly until my mother asked them POLITELY if they could wear their masks over their nose. Then he snickered and said no and threw our snowboard boots at the floor. Previously they had been handing it directly to us so it was an intentionally rude reaction. The other individual continually made side comments about the other member of my group because he was struggling to fit into the boots. Marty was friendly until we asked him to adhere to CDC standards during this COVID pandemic while the other individual was never friendly. When we returned our rentals the next day, Marty was not wearing a mask at all. I just read Phil's response to Paolo's review and he mentioned that they have strict COVID protocols which clearly isn't true considering that his staff don't follow them. I am sharing my experience so other people are aware that this is not an establishment that follows COVID protocols. We came here because of their 24$/day rate for snowboard rentals but there are plenty of other rental shops in the area that charge slightly more, a $30/day rate, but I recommend paying slightly more for better customer service and for a business that follows covid protocols. Truly unfortunate experience as Marty seems like a great guy otherwise. read more

Actually the least knowledgeable shop I have ever been to. Claimed mondo sizes changed, they dont but the street shoe sizes they use do AND said a beginner skiier should know what feels right. Gave two size too big boots (very dangerous) and gave incorrect buckling information. Belted off all the wax and though I didn't notice, luckily I'm actually an advanced and knowledgeable skiier so I was able to fix that but horrible horrible shop that took away from my cousins learning of a new and beautiful sport. Not even cheaper than the other shops around really. Spend the extra 5$ go somewhere and else read more
