I am very disappointed with my experience at Angels Massage on Hammer Lane.l…read more I paid $65 in cash for a 60-minute massage. My session started at 8:43 PM, so it should have ended at 9:43 PM. However, around 9:35 PM, the therapist told me she no longer had time to massage my legs. She only applied lotion to the front of my legs instead of actually massaging them because she seemed to be rushing to finish. Throughout the session, she kept looking at the clock, which made me feel like she was in a hurry. I repeatedly told the therapist, "Please stop shaking me. Make it harder." Instead of using firmer massage techniques, she kept shaking my body over and over. I told her several times that I did not like it because it was preventing me from relaxing, but she did not understand me. The language barrier made it very difficult to communicate my requests. I requested a full-body massage, but my legs were not fully massaged. In addition, the pressure she used on some parts of my body was painful and uncomfortable. I studied massage therapy in the Philippines through TESDA, so I am familiar with basic massage techniques. Because of this experience, I am concerned about whether the massage therapists are properly trained and licensed or certified. I am not accusing anyone of being unlicensed, but I believe this should be verified because of the poor quality of service and the inability to understand a client's instructions. I do not know the name of the therapist because no one introduced her to me. However, I can identify the staff member who pressured me to leave a $15 tip after the massage. I want to make it clear that I have no problem leaving a tip when I receive good service. I am happy to tip when I am satisfied and leave feeling relaxed. What upset me was that I received poor service, did not get the full massage I paid for, left feeling more stressed than relaxed, and was still pressured into leaving a $15 tip. No customer should feel obligated or pressured to tip after an unsatisfactory experience. I went there to relax, but I left feeling stressed, disappointed, and frustrated. I hope management reviews their customer service, therapist training, communication with clients, and tipping practices so that other customers do not have the same experience.
