Mid '05 I had a serious staph infection in my sinuses (Pseudomonus Aerugnosa). I found a great ENT who diagnosed me (others didn't know what was wrong!), and he gave me 3 (yes 3!) very strong antibiotics to take for one month (this was before I knew about probiotics (learned that from Dr. Colbert), and I did eat quite a bit of sugar related products as well. Sugar and antibiotics - not good! So hang on, gotta hear this! So after my infection went into remission, I became very sick every time I ate...everything went right through me! I'm 5'8", and normally 125-135 lbs. In 3 months of being so sick, I dropped to 99 lbs! I saw 4 different doctors (GI, primary, ENT, and a shrink?!), plus had every blood test known to mankind! And other tests as well, ultrasound, etc? Anyway, none of these doctors could figure out what my problem was! I thought I was dying! The shrink said he was going to fax me info on Anorexic & Bulimic support groups...I said "WHAT!? I love to eat and hate to puke"!! He didn't listen, by the time I got home, there was the fax. I faced him back, said "YOU'RE FIRED"! Then, at the time, my son who was in a local Christian school had a friend whose mom and entire family saw Dr. Colbert every year, so she referred him to me. She said "you've gotta keep an open mind"! Lol! I did. Anyway, I agreed to go but she called since she knew them, she explained how sick I was. He got me in two weeks later! I live in Illinois, but got a plane ticket to Florida. Good thing is, I was able to go by myself because my parents live in southern Florida so they drove up, and mom went in with me to see doc (they prefer spouse but mine couldn't get off work). First thing I did was gather ALL of my lab reports, doc notes, ultrasound reports, etc, organized by date, doc said "wow you keep great notes...you're very organized"! So then he touched my abdomen, and said "wow girl you are loaded with Candida"! (This is keep that open mind thing lmao)! I'm like "ok what"? He then explained about the yeast overgrowth, the sugar and antibiotics, etc. He said I'm going to do a simple blood test to confirm it, but I know you have it. Wow, I sure did, I maxed that out! Both mom and I took notes of everything he did throughout my one hour appt with him (omg he is so sweet, so adorable, such warm hands, so healthy! Had to toss that in there). He did other things as well to see what vitamins to put me on, but bottom line here, he put me on a holistic med for the Candida (don't remember!), and (cough cough hardest thing for me to do!), a 30 DAY CANDIDA DETOX DIET! My friend who was on it had no problems, me...omg I'm a sugar addict! Lol! But I did it! First week was hard but it got better and by week 3 and 4, I had so much energy I didn't know what to do! Day 31, I went to our local dairy store (that makes the best ice cream)! Oh, and this is NOT recommended by Dr Colbert lol! I wanted to see if the diet worked and how I felt. He was right, it worked, I didn't get sick, but I went into a huge sugar crash and slept for hours! After he cured me, I went back as needed (being in Illinois, etc). Anyway I just want to again say THANK YOU DR. COLBERT FOR SAVING MY LIFE! You are the best doctor in the world! I give him 10 billion stars! I HIGHLY, STRONGLY, RECOMMEND DR. COLBERT 100%!! He is worth it!!! Trust me! Oh I have all of his books too lol. Read them!

Great local CrossFit gym that is getting ready to open soon! Did a little tour- they have a huge…read moreregular gym side for personal training and what not, as well as a large CrossFit gym. The equipment is standard CrossFit stuff, made by Valor. They also have rowers and echo bikes. There is a long row on the back wall of bars for pull-ups, muscle ups etc. I've done a couple unofficial workouts here with local community members and friends and family of the owner. I've invited a couple friends as well. Everyone has felt welcome and they go over everything for the newbies. They're keen on letting people know how to modify or scale the workout according to your fitness level, age, injuries etc. I have never had any issue finding equipment for the workout. There is enough to go around. The warmup sometimes is a little jog around the parking lot and they have it all measured. I can't wait for this place to be up and running fully. I hear they may have a cool hangout area, lockers, showers, even a tanning bed. We shall see! In the meantime- they are on instagram so check them out there for more info.
