Then, about 25 years ago, I had some health issues that required me to stop smoking. I tried everything--patches, pills, white-knuckling it, and more. I tried everything I could think of. I'd heard of hypnosis to stop smoking but didn't believe it would help. After many failed attempts on my own, a friend referred me to Drake Eastburn. By that time, I was desperate, so I decided to give hypnosis a try. And I have never smoked again! Really, it's amazing how easy it was. There wasn't the constant struggle or overwhelming cravings I had experienced before. I wasn't ripping people's heads off or reaching for food to hide the cravings for a cigarette. I just didn't smoke. It was like I never had. In that one session, something shifted, and it stayed shifted. Hypnosis is amazing, and so is Drake. I tried many different gums, patches, and support groups on my own, and nothing was working. In complete desperation, I decided to try Drake's smoking cessation treatment, though I was very skeptical and almost positive it would be a fruitless effort. I am happy to say that I could not have BEEN more wrong! In just one session, I had nearly no urge to smoke and when I did feel tempted I was able to thwart it very easily and redirect myself to more productive activities. She told a fragile teen family member that another family member, with whom she had never even spoken on the telephone, had a certain diagnosis. The other family member had been through much treatment and testing, which completely ruled out the diagnosis or anything similar. This destroyed a relationship. Diagnosing a person who is not your patient is a serious ethical violation.
