He told them Medicare. If doctors actually cared the first question would be what kind of problem are you experiencing? But, no, it's "what insurance do you have"? Then they asked which doctor he wanted to see. He told them one of the men I forget which one. They then told him that, sorry, only one of our doctors is accepting Medicare. Oh, that's brilliant. Why doesn't it say that on the list of insurance that you accept? Next to Medicare it should say Dr. So and so only. The rest are more concerned about their money than actually helping you which is why they don't accept Medicare because that cuts into their paycheck. Well, Medicare is all he has. He's disabled and on disability. Like millions of other people who worked all their lives this is all he has now and this place won't give him the time of day. Then they asked which medication he's already taking. He told them. They placed him on hold and came back and told him that due to the fact that he's already taking controlled substances they can't accept him as a patient. What!?! These "controlled substances" he's already taking are prescriptions from another doctor and have nothing to do with this place. He was looking for a family doctor to help him with everything else, like when he's sick, not the medicine he is already getting elsewhere for other reasons. Any medicine prescribed by a doctor is a controlled substance. That's why you have to go to a doctor to get it. So if you're seeing a separate doctor for specialized reasons but still need a family doctor for basic reasons don't bother with these money-hungry jerks. This is absolutely outrageous. None of these charlatans should be allowed to call themselves doctors. All they care about is their money, not you. If you're poor, don't have good insurance or any insurance, disabled, on Medicare, already getting medicine from another doctor, etc, don't even bother calling this place. All they care about is their money. They don't care if you die.

They weren't busy so I went right back for my urinalysis... then to a room. I was quickly assessed by the very kind and knowledgeable nurse. Then the nurse practitioner gave me my results... prescribed my medication, answered my questions and sent me on my way. Flu is rampant in our area so I was worried about catching it. I asked why they weren't busy. They said they have been seeing lots of patients but have been working hard. I believe it. The nice thing is they did not hurry while providing my actual care. I live nearby so I was literally treated and back home in 30 minutes.

I decided to go to UrgentCare of Louisiana one week after I became ill and 4 days of laringitus and just not feeling better. Dr. Anisha Turner is the BEST! She took tests and found I had Strep Throat. Not only did she give me a steroid shot, she prescribed me FIVE other meds that kicked in immediately and by that night I was 50% better and the next day I was 80% back to my healthy self. I also found it odd that she wore a mask the entire time I was in the exam room but she came back into the room to gather more information and did so WITHOUT A MASK. The lady at the front desk and the sweet lady that took my vitals were both AWESOME! They were very helpful, joyful and knowledgeable and for that I am very appreciative and rate them both a 10/10.

I was concerned, but I've known people that have had this procedure without problems. Overall, It was sold as a simple procedure to alleviate his chronic back pain & it can be, UNLESS something goes wrong! The doctor that was performing the set up for the trial procedure ended up puncturing the dura mater, which allowed his spinal cord to fill with blood, which led to blood on the brain and a comatose patient. They - Red River Surgery Center (Shreveport LA) allowed him to sit in the recovery room for over an hour After they said he should be awake! Finally about three hours into the ordeal the doctor came back and they transported him to LSU. Long story short, he never regained consciousness and died on Saturday September 17, 2020! I'm am only writing this in hopes that someone else doesn't endure the loss and pain we've been through. Check the doctor's credentials and find out everything you can before undergoing this procedure. Do Not just take their word for it!

Needed a CT scan and the equipment was broken. I waited (while fasting) while they figured out what they could do. Turns out- nothing. They ultimately had to reschedule. So fasting AGAIN 6 days later. This time the equipment was working. The wait in the lobby was 15 minutes past my schedule time. The tech was friendly, efficient and I was walking out 15 minutes later. I guess I recommend. But honestly, no body wants to have to see the folks here. Stay healthy my friends, and avoid the need to visit these folks.
