So, my normal second choice massage place in Owensboro was unavailable for an appointment so I gave this place a try. I called and was able to schedule for that afternoon, one hour, deep tissue. The place is way back away from Hwy 54 on what seems like a dead end, next to a smoke shop so there is not any traffic where it's at. The place was clean and appealing. It is set up like the usual Asian massage. The chairs in the front for feet and massage tables in the back in rooms. "Jerik", spelled by what I heard not a name tag, was a man that gave my deep tendon massage. We discussed to "work out my muscles" and I would let him know when I couldn't handle it. If you don't understand what I mean, a deep tendon massage is their cue to get into the deeper layers of muscles and manually "make" them release tension and frankly it hurts. And this guy knew the assignment. He started with the typical deep tendon and moved onto maneuvers I've never had done before to loosen me up. Honestly, I hollered out several, Oh Gods!, a few Sh*t, Sh*t and even tapped on the table for mercy like a wrestler held up in a leg lock clutch! He'd stop and say, okay? With a deep breath, I motion to continue. During the session, I noticed feeling better. My muscles were unlocking and relaxing. I even said at one point, I can breathe better. I had waited too long to get my massage. I was tearing up my liver, kidneys and stomach eating Tylenols and Ibuprofen for the pain I was in. This massage hurt yeah but this morning, I woke up pain free. Still got some tightness in my hips because I told him to stop. I couldn't take anymore. But I WILL be returning to this guy. I'm sure they can do the light easy massage too but if you NEED a real deep one, he's the one to get. Enjoy!

My friend told me her and her daughter got $25 facials here and I should give them a try. I was on clinical rotation in Owensboro so I scheduled an appointment during my lunch break. I was thinking I'll have a relaxing experience, and can just grab a healthy smoothie for lunch. The building inside and out is aesthetically pleasing and the staff were very welcoming upon my arrival. I had my scrubs on since I was on lunch so the staff chatted up about she was a Registered Nurse and how she thought about going back to school. We spent a lot of time talking about her ambitions and then she says, I'm going to give you a derma-plane. Honestly, I did not know what this was and she did not explain. I did ask, is that part of the facial?, while she gathered her things then turned and says, yes. She literally SHAVED my face. For those out there that also do not know, it's a small sideways razor that is to shave the "peach fuzz" off the face. I was kinda freakin out. But I thought, just go with this and relax. When she got done, she asked if I had allergies. I told her most products cause problems so I only use coconut oil as a moisturizer. She says well you'll like this. She puts a lotion on my face. I know it was lotion based because I could instantly feel my pores close as she applied. She did not apply it in a massage kind of way. She slaps it on like she was afraid to touch my skin which is acne free, no blemishes so why do it like that? Then asks me to walk me to walk with her over to this wall to "buy some" of this stuff while I notice my face to start stinging. I told her I was not sure how this lotion will work, so I might purchase at a later time. She then walks me over to the cashier that charges me $85. I asked, for a shaved face and a lotion? She says, yes. I reluctantly paid and left. I got back to clinical and was talking to the staff. We looked up the pricing on the website. I was really confused since the costs was not adding up. So I called the place back and asked how much is a facial? She says it depends on what you get done. I told her about my friend telling me about the $25 facials. She says no. She said the derma-planing is $35. I was like okay but I was charged $85. She said I was charged $50 for the consult. I did not get a consult. We talked about what she wanted to do in her life and she asked me to buy a lotion that was stinging my face. You know, they got $85 out of me. And I will never return. My daughter will never go. My recommendation to anyone asking will be not want to go. We need a place that gives $25 facials. I would go to a place with actual relaxing, massaging, 20 minute, $25 facials every time I came to Owensboro. But that is NOT what we have here.
