We practice yoga & meditation because we refuse to be bound by our anxiety. We believe that social justice, equity, and trauma-informed practices are intrinsic to yoga. History

Established in 2002.

On September 11, 2001, I was living far from NYC, and felt helpless. After the initial attack, my feelings of despair persisted. I knew I had to do something to be part of the solution to the world's suffering. My training as a yoga and meditation teacher began. I started teaching yoga when I lived in Australia, and in 2007 I returned home to Brooklyn, NY. I began teaching group yoga classes around NYC in studios and gyms, and specialized in prenatal yoga and private lessons. Since 2002, I’ve empowered thousands of students to feel more grounded, focused, and relaxed. I founded The Compassion Club online yoga membership to give you a soft landing where you can breathe, move, and heal in community. I'd be honored to support you as you care for yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. I'll help you navigate the big emotions that life throws your way, so you can take compassionate action and make a positive impact on the world.

Meet the Business Owner: Kate L.

Hi! I'm Kate, a gentle yoga teacher who helps highly sensitive people regulate their nervous systems so they can experience more presence, joy, and relaxation. My little neurodiverse family lives in Brooklyn, NY. I wrote a book: "Atypical Kids, Mindful Parents: The joys and struggles of raising neurodivergent kids." I love nature, travel, self-compassion, and cultivating long-term relationships with sincere students who appreciate the benefits of yoga beyond exercise. My core values include: empathy, integrity, equity, and respect. My approach is trauma-informed, inclusive, and judgment-free. I'm a cycle-breaker, disability justice advocate, and empath. Since 2002, I’ve supported thousands of yoga students in feeling more grounded, focused, and relaxed.
