I happen to be a professor of management and always trying to instill in my graduate and undergraduate students a sense of caring and human touch. Deborah supplied all that and then some. Her true professionalism exuded in handling the tests that she conducted, as well the informative session that ensued. She discussed all the appropriate hearing instruments, their pros and cons, technical specifications, and cost structures. She took all her time doing this, tinged with patience and without any hurrying or rushing. My experience was so positive that I thought it was my duty to share it with prospective patients. Over the next couple of months, we worked hard together--adjustments, recovery sessions, different treatments--everything I needed to get better. The Englewood, N.J. office is staffed by a hearing aid specialist (A Licensed Hearing Aid…read moreDispenser.) There is no audiologist on site. There are limited hearing diagnostics for this reason. A large range of hearing aids are available but the most expensive with the newest technologies is the one offered. The hearing aid specialist described many of these technologies plus Bluetooth connectivity. She told me I would have to come back weekly for a couple weeks to learn how to use all the technologies associated with these hearing aids. When I received my hearing aids she set them, told me to use them and come back in one week. I made an appointment and when I came back she asked how my hearing was and I told her great. She then told me to come back in six months so she could check the setting. I asked her what happened to the education regarding the various technologies associated with these hearing aids. She took my IPhone, changed some settings and told me I now have blue tooth. I was anticipating more, even simple tasks such as changing volume on the hearing aids. There is no point in having Oticon's most expensive hearing aids with the newest technologies if you don't know how to use them!

They saw me very quickly while they were understaffed, this doctor seems very smart and he knew a lot of things almost immediately just from talking to me and then confirm them right away. Not only did you get me the testing that I want it done without me asking for it There was no co-pay and you can have that confirmed before you go. They forgot to conduct tests and lab exams and when I pointed it out they made me come again and ordered another lab exam. First they said that it was their error and I would not have to pay anything extra but when I had two lab bills they ignored me and refused to reimburse me. The second warning sign should've been that the front entry to the building was in disrepair and I fell and injured my knee. The final straw SHOULD'VE been when a process server was attempting to serve the doctor while I sat in an empty waiting room -- but I was desperate. I went to Anna Lavotshkin's offices for a simple ailment in November of 2014. All I needed was a quick antibiotic and to be sent on my way. My GP couldn't accommodate me in a pinch so I got stuck going here. Right off the bat, Anna Lavotshkin was pushing to give me a physical. Ummmm no. I told her I had a GP and had had a recent physical, but he couldn't accommodate me. Luckily, after an uncomfortable conversation I was ready to get out of there. The worst of this was related to billing. I did not receive a bill for her services until MONTHS after the fact. (7 or 8 months, for the record) They do not accept cards at all, so I cut a check for the balance IN FULL through my bank account online and had it mailed to their offices. The check was cashed by her immediately. A few weeks later, I received a bill in the mail again. I called the office and they had no record of the check - they asked me to provide a copy of it. So while my statement is showing that the check cleared, I now have to pay a $10 to send them a copy of the cashed check. What a joke.
