As an educator who transitioned all four of my college courses to remote learning mid-semester, I know firsthand how challenging and time-consuming it has been. Nevertheless, Beth Jacob responded with its trademark thoughtfulness, diligence and care, and I wanted to thank you all for the wonderful job you have done. In fact, over the past four years, both my children found in Beth Jacob the ideal first step to embark on their educational journeys. More specifically, I'd like to thank Ms. Stacey and Ms. Olga for their incredible work this year. Ms. Stacey, by every measure, is a first-rate educator who brought to each class (both in-person and online) a winning combination of structure and sweetness. After classes went remote, I had the rare pleasure of observing Ms. Stacey's teaching on a daily basis, and always walked away impressed by her patience, preparedness and care. It is no easy feat to keep four and five-year-old children seated at a laptop, let alone learning! It should be noted that Ms. Olga was exceptional as well. She not only brought her great artistic gifts and a bilingual element to the class, but exuded a warmth and generosity which, along with Ms. Stacey, established the classroom community as a place of safety and kindness for all. One son had a male teacher, which a friend jealously said he'd had to wait till he was in 4th grade to get a male teacher. I liked all the teachers there. I love it that it's integrated, that people with disabilities are included, and they have a dedicated specialist staff. So friendly were a couple of assistant teachers that after work they would come to the park to keep playing with my sons, after work. That is just awesome. It's a very warm and lovely school which I highly recommend. The sad thing is that it's not just filled with kids from around there, and my sons lost a lot of friends because people came from all over the place to go to this school. My eldest told me he was going to get married to his first sweetheart here. I asked him who he wanted as his best man, and he was confused. I wondered to the teacher if it was a bit weird. She said it was intimacy and that's good. Later my son had other girlfriends. He sure was a player in this preschool. They let you spend the day with your child, which I've done a bunch of times. Openness in a school is very important to me, so I just found that so cool. I adore the staff there and thank them so much for all their hard work.

The entire staff was so warm and welcoming from day one. The school building itself is beautiful, clean, and well-kept. The teachers and staff are caring, supportive, and skilled. The home-school communication is absolutely top notch. I always know my son's progress and am informed about all of the events that go on. It seems like there is always something fun going on at St. Kevin's, including the walk-a-thon, monster bash, trunk or treat, family movie nights, marching in the Christmas parade, and the Christmas Carol sing along...the list goes on and on! There are so many opportunities for families to be involved in the school community and for children to bond with their peers. There are also a variety of sports and other extracurricular activities for students to get involved in. Yes, academics are important and the school is very strong in that regard, but St. Kevin's recognizes that school is supposed to be an experience and that they are educating the whole child. The new principal is exceptional. She empowers teachers, families, and students and is truly interested in hearing everyone's voice and promotes a clear vision for the school. She really values feedback and is an intentional, focused, and dedicated leader. I didn't set out to write a novel with this review, but it is difficult to keep it succinct because St. Kevin's truly is a wonderful school with too many wonderful qualities to list. If you are thinking of sending your child here, please do. You will not regret it. At St. Kevin's your child is seen as a unique and growing individual, not just a state test score.

More importantly, the values they formed while there and still carry today are heartwarming. I see that same sense of values forming in my children now. Many parents are involved in the school, in a good way, volunteering and chairing for fundraisers. They have a new science lab which my kids are excited to use and each kid gets their own chromebook to use. The teachers I've interacted with are very friendly and keep you up to date on your kids using the classdojo app. The art, music and spanish classes are great as well. They also have an after-school program for when you can't pick up the kids on time or if you are a working parent. Early drop off is available as well. I can't say enough good things about the school.
