We adopted a child over 5 years ago and are enjoying the growth in our family through the child but as well as her birth parents. Heart to Heart Adoptions encouraged us to have open communication with the birth parents and it has been the best advice I have every taken. I placed a child with them over 20 years ago. I was allowed to stay in contact with the adoptive family as it was an open adoption. I got a letter twice a year on her birthday and near christmas to give me updates on how she was doing. It stopped when she would have been around 16, and I'm assuming that is her choice. Reality is though, that when you make the choice to place your child for adoption, imagining you have a right to know what's going on with that child, open adoption or not, is kind of crazy. If they are kind enough to share the life of that kiddo with you be grateful, otherwise maybe just focus on being happy that someone was able to offer that child what you weren't whatever that looks like. The company has never been anything but totally supportive and there for me even after twenty years when I tried to find out from them why the family has stopped responding, because I had worried something has happened. It seems the family isn't responding to the agency anymore either, which is what makes me think the daughter wants privacy. Remember this is about the child and what's best for them, not you and your feelings. read more

I've been trying to stay in contact with my kids or not for my first two initial visits with my kids I was shown that I am not my first mother I am just a name that hurt most importantly I have to do adoption given my circumstances in my life where I could raise my kids and I wish I would've took that back because I know there was many times I could've been a mom like now and all my birth notice it doesn't take a village to raise a kid it takes love and patience and admiration's and lifetimes I feel the people that help me at this agency were two faced. Staying in contact and finding my adopted kids and making time for them I never got that wish I was told my adoption was open for my kids my kids are my son Max my daughter Charlie For Bonnie and Donna you guys told me my adoption was open and made me sign those PaperWorks and told me I would have visitation rights letters cards openness and just because I was struggling I was left in the cold as a birth mom again never to hear how her kids are doing or show consideration or empathy towards me and for my counselor, you're very convincing that I made the most biggest mistake of my life so thank you Sharon for showing me that I am not a good mother and I'm not a good woman when I am poor and when I'm falling apart and when I am used and when I am hurt. I have been waiting to come in contact with my kids again and I'm still waiting I don't trust this agency regret everything I regret both adoptions and I regret trusting women of faith Utah is a cold cruel state if you ain't Mormon or rich. If I could hug my kids again and tell them how sorry I am for making the biggest mistake in their life and regret I would take them back in a heartbeat and make it all better and do the best I can like I am now for once and realize it's not about the money, But money is the root of all evil in this world. If my kids see this one day before it gets removed just know your mother loved you and she always does she wishes she could be there to see you smile or touch you when you fall or hug you when you need it! My tears for you will haunt me every night your names will forever be in my heart I love my children but I don't like evil. Their actions are criminal! They have had $20,000 of our money and won't refund it, but "will place it towards our next match". This is impossible to do when they don't send you any potential matches and for over half a year Linda hasn't even so much as responded to the email we send them each month to check-in. When we contacted Lisa, the only other email contact we had for this agency, she tersely informed us Linda would contact us....yet we are going on 4 months and we still haven't heard a word from Linda. If they aren't going to make their best efforts or even attempt to match us, please just give us our money back so we can go to an agency that will actually do their best to find us a match. Otherwise, you are just taking our money and not providing the promised service, which is criminal! read more
