We are originally from Las Vegas with no family in Salt Lake County. We needed reputable in home, clean childcare that we could trust with our whole lives. While they do not have cameras they send pictures all day. We met Dora. Who is now an extended member of our family. Dora loves on each of her students as if they were all related to her, they're all family in her eyes. There is no one better qualified to watch your children. I used to be a preschool teacher as a teen and in vegas I worked alongside Nevad Highway Patrol as a community educator at schools, as I mentioned our daughter has only attended private schools from birth, we've had a nanny and our son now has Ms. Dora. My expectations and standards are much higher than most. She cares for the kids like you wouldn't believe - no one ever has an illness or runny nose. Everyone's clothes are clean- she tends to every one of our infants needs like she's his own personal nanny. He is always in a clean diaper and clothes when we pick him up, she notifies us of every bump or scratch. We also have a 7 year old who attends My little world on the days her school is not in session. She's been in private school since birth and maintains advance grades so we trust her words, every time she's there she echoes the same. That Ms. Dora cares for her like she belongs to the President, like her students all of the children are royalty. My daughter has shared she is always feeding them delicious snacks and teaching them things. Dora has a helper who has helped my daughter with math over winter break, everyone they've hired is top notch, au pair or nanny quality childcare for a fair price. The number listed is for Carmen, Carmen speaks English and Spanish but Dora; the owner primarily speaks in Spanish and her and I text back and forth in English all day long. There isn't better care you can afford. I toured 4 over crowded over priced daycares before I searched for a licensed in home daycare and I will never look back. I know we're years from it but we will cry the day our boy has to go to kindergarten, we know it.

I still take my kids there for care now I'm back at the office. Mrs. Marisol and Ms. Jen are amazing directors, they do a great job hiring good teachers who love kids and babies. Kids are safe in their care, fed and plenty do do inside and outside when the weather is nice. Highly recommended, won't go anywhere else.

As a mom who is also a pediatric nurse, the decision to put my children in daycare was very difficult, but I don't regret it. My 1st born could say her alphabet at 2 years of age, and has built long lasting friendships and have continued out side of daycare even though she doesn't go to the same school as her friends. I was nervous when I had my 2nd child because the daycare had changed to cadence academy with a different director and new staff since my 1st was a baby. Yet they have continued to provide quality care. My now almost 2 year old loves going to daycare everyday. She adores Miss Kathy and runs to her class room in the morning excited to play. Yes kids are kids and they do get hurt or scratched but that can also happen under any parent's supervision. We're human, but the staff and director Maria have always been caring and responsible about calling/reporting any injury's. Even those injury's that I wouldn't have even thought twice about, because again they're kids, they get hurt and they hurt each other that's life. If you are looking for a caring daycare that your children will love this is it.

More than once, my child came home with scratches on their face from other kids, and no one told me what happened. Sometimes, it seemed like the staff didn't even know. As a parent, that was unsettling. I shouldn't have to chase down basic information about my child's well-being. It started to shake my trust in the school, but the director reassured me that things would get better and even promised that if anything like this happened again, they'd be more than willing to share video footage. But after I started bringing up concerns, I noticed a shift in how I was treated. The teachers were still good with my child, but I felt like they started ignoring me--cold stares, no greetings, just an overall weird vibe. It gave me the impression that speaking up wasn't actually welcome, despite being told otherwise. Then another incident happened, and once again, no one informed me. So I asked to see the video footage, just like they had promised. This time, though, the director completely backtracked and told me I'd need a court order to access it. That response made me feel misled--like their original promise wasn't genuine. And then, later that same day, they abruptly un-enrolled my child. When I asked why, their corporate office claimed that I had 'physically intimidated' the director by closing the door and using profanity. That honestly felt like a complete misrepresentation of what actually happened. Yes, I asked to speak with the director about why I wasn't being informed when my child got hurt. Yes, I closed the door so we could talk privately. And yes, I sat in a chair across from the director's desk, frustrated but advocating for my child. At no point did I intimidate anyone, yell, or use profanity. It felt to me like they framed the situation in a way that justified their decision instead of addressing the real issue--their lack of communication and accountability. In the end, them unenrolling my child turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I've since found a preschool that actually feels organized and makes an effort to keep me informed when incidents happen. Would I recommend Cadence Academy to other parents? Absolutely not. In my experience, they made it seem like they encouraged parental involvement, but when concerns were raised, it felt more like passive hostility than real action. To me, they seemed short-staffed, disorganized, and unwilling to make real improvements--just a lot of empty promises. This is purely my personal experience and how I felt about my time at Cadence Academy. I understand that others may have had different experiences, but I can only speak to what I personally went through and how it appeared to me. My thoughts and impressions are based on what I observed and how I felt as a parent navigating these situations.

I love that every new teacher is trained before they join a class, and so they are consistently able to meet each child at where the child is individually at a social, emotional, and intellectual level. I love that there are no time-outs, and there is plenty of positive reinforcement. The teachers are so kind, and full of empathy and compassion, that it takes any pressure off the kids and creates an environment of unconditional acceptance. Lacey and Paige and all the staff are simply wonderful with the kids. Our own daughter used to have meltdowns, and since she has come here, they have completely stopped. They respect that she doesn't like to be touched and doesn't like to have an audience while going potty. We know she is receiving individualized attention, because we see improvements daily. In under 3 weeks, she came home able to pronounce certain sounds that she struggled with - as a result, we were able to understand her better, which resulted in her being a lot calmer. The classrooms are full of natural light, and they have a sweet play area in the back with a play set and a sand box. There are plenty of sensory materials available. The children have access to various art media and materials also. Within the first month of school, they have used Play-Doh to build habitats for animals in the grasslands, they've made animal footprints using plaster (assisted by their teacher, of course), have painted with watercolors while listening to music, drawn self-portraits by looking into mirrors, and have made multimedia seashell and sand collages, among other things. The art is not constrained and Pinterest-worthy - instead, experiences are aimed at helping children learn how to use various media and work around a theme to create their own stuff. The kids also have music and dancing time. The children get a fair balance of outdoor free-play, indoor free-play, and teacher directed activities. There's a fair amount of imaginative play involved. While the curriculum is not rigorously academic (i.e. your child will not learn to write all the letters of the alphabet in week 1 of school as a 2-or-3-year-old), there is a focus on cultivating scientific thinking and curiosity, and they are equipping the kids with skills necessary to excel at Math. It's a child-led Reggio Emilio school. They make sure social skills are incorporated into learning experiences. Last month, for instance, the kids built an airplane for the class to sit in and took turns "flying" the plane. They also hosted their own market with fake money and products, and took turns buying and selling goods and returning change to customers. They have been building habitats for the African grassland animals they learned about. They have been measuring object sizes and lengths. There is art incorporated into their Science lessons. Among other social skills, the kids also clean-up after meals, wiping down the tables and sweeping up crumbs. They fold away their bedding and put it away after nap time. My daughter has come home so proud and confident that she can help around the home and contribute these things. The teacher also has conversations with the kids during lunch, which is so crucial - to be able to listen, and take turns speaking at dinner. The snacks provided are nutritious, diverse, and not junk food (apricots, cheese, turkey, crackers, fruit, a variety of vegetables and hummus, etc.). I love that they have an app that the teacher uses to provide periodic information about what the kids ate, how long they napped, and activities they did. They also upload pictures and videos. The teacher fills in updates when the kids are asleep or during post-meal cleanup. So while the kids are awake, they have her complete attention. The updates are helpful, because as working parents, we know if our child hasn't eaten or we know if a nap wasn't taken, and can accordingly provision for it. It's also reassuring to check in on my kid when I am on my lunch break. The drop-off and pickup timings are very generous. We can have afford to have a slightly late day at work without having to stress about pickup. The school has far fewer days off than most of the other local schools - so I don't have to worry about arranging childcare for non-school days. Given the small class sizes, trained teachers, the Reggio Emilio approach and curriculum, convenient hours, limited holidays, and individualized attention, this preschool provides full value to its students and parents. We had come here after having our older child at a wonderful school that set the bar really high. And we love the Second Avenues Preschool just as much, if not more. Since hiring a new Director (Lacey) the turnover seems high and the teachers being hired appear to be unqualified and incapable of handling the amount of children in their classes. A couple months ago my husband and I were informed that our child was hitting and spitting in class- my kids teacher and Lacey the Director stated that this behavior had been going on for an ENTIRE YEAR without the daycare informing us- a complete lack of professionalism and communication. Needless to say, we all decided that it was best to part ways. This was a horrible experience to say the least.

Three stars because the first two years of our experience here was great, the last two; not so…read moremuch. I noticed a serious decline in teacher enthusiasm and then a constant wave of turnover. I noted that the staff was likely underpaid and treated poorly. I also felt that although most of the staff cared for the children, the owner was less focused on the happiness of the teachers, parents and students, and more on how much money she was raking in. During the COVID shutdown, we pulled our child out temporarily, and paid the amount asked to hold our spot for our return. We were never contacted or questioned after that and when we brought him back, we were told that he didn't have a spot in their school because we didn't "complete the SECOND survey they emailed out, asking what our decision on return was" -even though we had already paid to hold his spot. Ultimately, after feeling unappreciated and unhappy overall, we pulled him out. Thinking we would get our money back was apparently giving the owner of this school too much credit, because she refused and said that was our choice to pull him out. I feel as though she's taken this daycare in a distasteful direction and I would be cautious when considering it for your child.
