There is a positive energy with the team members here and they seem to try as hard as possible. My dad is not always agreeable to getting help with his bathing, medications, changing of clothes, incontinence, etc. but the team tries different interventions and makes every re-attempt at things as comfortable as they can for him. The home is clean, it smells pleasant, and it feels like home away from home. He started in the early memory class but then needed to move in full time when he no longer could participate and it was too difficult for his wife to take care of him at home. We have excellent communication because there are registered nurses, an assistant director and a good medical team that provide the care. The outdoor courtyard is a bonus. I visit once a month for a span of 2 days (living in Chicago), so I eat the meals, watch him in activities, and see how he is cared for.

It was quite a while ago, but I definitely remeber the day one was so mad and yelling that they had to call the cops on her to escort her out! The mom left a little while after that and I always felt so bad because she was really sweet but these daughters were trouble for sure. Pretty crazy based on stories I heard, and very negative and complaining. I'm not surprised they had troubles at the next place they went. I'm giving Vesta 5 star bc they had to deal with them! The more I think about those reviews and remember the drama they brought that I had forgotten about until now, the madder im getting. I don'thave personal experience with Vesta but I definitely wouldn't go by those reviews. It's a pretty new place and I've heard it's very nice and clean on the inside and that the staff is really good and caring. I also heard very positive things about the director from someone who knows her, so I would keep it on my list and check it out for sure. Then decide for yourself.

Negatives are the unfortunate lack of activities provided for residents. Small staff is busy cooking, cleaning, caring for residents needs, answering phone and doing it all - there is no activities person. Biggest negative is that the owner/director has a policy that requires a one hour notice/heads up whenever family wants to visit loved one. Also, visiting hours are limited. Our family did not like this policy, found it very inconvenient often causing us to be unable to see our mom. We often wondered what was happening with our mom when we weren't allowed to be there. In hindsight, it was unwise to put our mom who has Alzheimer's and cannot speak for herself, in a facility where family was not allowed to come unless we phoned facility and provided a one hour notice. This was not in my mother's best interest for many reasons as one might imagine, and we regret allowing her to be in this situation. I would not recommend this facility or any facility with a policy such as this.

However, I have been to other hospitals and to be quite honest I was not expecting this place to be very good. My providers have been great at active listening and then ensuring all my concerns are heard. There is also a resident there that saw me the other day after I had emergency dental surgery elsewhere and she was amazing. She even let me know that she did not like some of the symptoms I had been having but wanted to keep an eye on them. Told me to call back if they keep persisting. Ran a blood test to see if I had an active infection and that I should have the results the next day. I kid you not, I got in the car and about 15 minutes later my Dr. called and let me know that my labs were fine. That's impressive! They also have valet parking which is very helpful since it can be a bit of a nightmare trying to find parking there. But everyone I talked to or interacted with there was nothing short of kind and helpful so far.

The building is showing its years, but the equipment is all current, and the staff are up to date on all current medical technology and procedures. The bar is extremely low. If your loved one is in need of actual assistance, say Level 2 or 3 acuity they are not equipped nor willing to care in a dignified manner. My mother moved here in early 2020 with the same level of care needs as when she was forced out in late 2024. The current housing director, Candice, began a campaign to kick her out in June 2024 using emotional abuse, retaliation and bullying tactics. She repeatedly entered her room without permission and told her she was "feeble, and too much work." She insulted and dehumanized my mother and instructed caregivers to strip her of care needs she had been receiving for years. While some caregivers complied with these dehumanizing instructions, others did not (thank you to the few and shame on the rest!) In addition, the food is of low quality, with the same basic menu repeated every week. Bland picnic food such as hotdogs and potato chips are served multiple times a week with nary a vegetable in sight. There is NO DESIGNATED CLEANING STAFF. The caregivers are expected to clean the rooms on top of all of their other duties. This is simply not possible so please enjoy filthy rooms in unhygienic conditions. I am consciously choosing not to name caregivers in this post as I fear retaliation for them. But my hope is that if you have a vulnerable or disabled senior in your life you will read this review and look for another location for your loved one. Otherwise, plan on visiting MULTIPLE times a week/month until they make serious changes in management and find a competent Director of Housing. What a sad and disgraceful end for my family at this residence.

It doesn't appear you are equipped to deal with Alzheimer's residents as your license for memory care was delayed and you still have an empty memory care facility. One even sat with my mom when she could sense my mom was feeling very down. The HUC on the rehab floor is Fi and she is amazing. She has everything scheduled for you before you know you need it and has transportation to and from appointments as well. All of the staff was very friendly and easy to communicate with. If a loved one needs rehab and Congregational Home is a choice you have, choose it.

The clinic is supposedly there. I allowed 1/2 hour to park and get to the office. It took 1/2…read morehour to finally get to a lab. The woman at the desk was helpful. I was 2 minutes late for the appointment and still had to go to the other side of the building and then go to the building next door. I left. I asked at last 6 staff people for directions. Most had no idea where the clinic is. The signage was terrible. Often cannot be read from the street. No street numbers. Confusing, similar names for buildings. Those who knew where I needed to go used "insider" names. I had never been there and had to keep asking for a better explanation. One person directed me to a parking ramp. I spent 10 minutes there looking for a parking space and never did. I tried valet parking but it was jammed (wrong building anyway). The office where my appointment was never sent me a map! They have maps but they are not great. No clue about what the front of the building looks like. No name on the building. Or buildings. I think the same name applies to more than one building. This is the worst. It is not designed for patients (customers). Maybe they should have people at every street entrance to give directions? ANYTHING. I don't want to go back.
