(Recessing the hinges on a door so it would close properly). I had also hired him to secure my fence at my business, which I had bought metal rods for. He told me the metal rods weren't necessary (so I returned them) and that he would buy the materials needed to secure the fence. The fence blew down a week later, and he charged me to fix it again. This time with metal stakes. It blew down a third time, because he had not secured the ends of it w stakes, but instead used plastic zip ties. I also paid him to build an outdoor shower which looked great, except for a 2" gap that you could see right through to my clients naked bodies. He texted me three times to make sure I sent a check for the second job (that I paid him twice for) but failed to respond to any of my text complaining about the unresolved issues. Seems like a nice guy but does not complete or stand behind his work. I'm only writing this review because he won't respond to my texts regarding my latest fence failure.

This company is professional, honest and exhibits personal integrity. We never heard a…read morediscouraging word, foul language or high-pitched aggressive communication, either verbally, via text or email. They have been at our house for over a month and have shown consideration and awareness regarding the personal items inside of the house and out. They have been hired to paint the inside, the outside of the house, as well as rebuild and reinforce our decks. Due to the fact that our home is 20 years old, we expected to find some issues. When we did, Jason and his team were quick to point out any potential problems, suggest quick resolutions and were prompt to efficiently solve the problem, i.e., a leaking roof of which we were not aware, that ended up almost flooding our kitchen area. They were on time, if not early every day, never smoked anywhere near the house, and were cautious of our pets when entering and exiting the home. They were courteous at all times and went to great lengths to make sure the workspaces were clean, even at the end of the day, not necessarily the end of the task. As for any change orders that needed to be discussed and finalized, Jason was more than willing to meet with us, going over line-item by line-item, adjusting anything along the way, and working with us regarding product delays (due to shipping or production problems). At one point, when Alpine Lumber delivered a deficient product to our home, they immediately rectified the situation and had the correct product ordered for delivery. While they are not finished with the challenges ahead, we have already scheduled this company for roofing installation in 2026. We highly recommend this company.

As of December we were down to picking lighting placement with the designer in the CAD program. New windows had been approved by our HOA. Then the designer left as of December 31, 2021. Starting in January, I could not get ahold of this company. I texted Owen. I called Owen and left messages. I called and left messages with the office. I emailed all of them. I even stopped by the downtown location twice to find no one there. But then I went out on their Facebook page (wondering if they had shut down) and found they were boasting of their current 3 spec houses. Uh, what happened to starting my remodel on March 1? You know, the one I blocked vacation rentals for? I wouldn't know. Don't pin your hopes on them. I really thought I had found a great company. I am really disappointed.

We are not novices since over the years we have remodeled several homes (our own and for business), have built a new home, and have remodeled commercial property. As a result, we have plenty of stories to tell with regard to budgets, quality of work, etc. and were a little apprehensive about an out of State remodel project. Well, forget all that. Our Skywalker project manager, Luby, was fantastic. He was responsive to questions, kept us updated on progress by email and with photos, kept us within budget, and on schedule. The quality of the work was top notch. In addition, the documentation provided with invoices was complete and accurate. Their system for managing projects is very professional and the best I have ever seen for a residential job. They put other contractors I have used to shame. (This is a true story.) I have and will recommend Skywalker to anyone needing to remodel a property or for new construction. I would also add that the company has remodeled a number of commercial properties (restaurants) in town and their quality of work in that area is also very good, and they have a good reputation in the community.
