The consult rooms with specialists are inviting and the waiting rooms are pleasant. Despite the nature of the practices, children have no issue in attending this hospital. The decor is modern and tidy. The furniture is clean and comfortable and there are tea and coffee making facilities around the consult rooms of the practices. My children had books to read and a play pen to while away the time spent waiting for your appointment. The staff have always been helpful and pleasant. It's definitely a place I would go back to and would recommend it to anybody. The only differing factor would be the specialist that you see. My sons specialist is a natural with children and really put my son at ease in the lead up to his operation. This ultimately put me and my wife at ease. Most importantly the operation was a success and the condition was treated without any complications. Great work.

And I'm not talking about the procedures (even though that would be saying something good for the hospital) I'm talking about the experience here. The first time I came in was to have my tonsils out and I don't know what I was expecting but I wasn't expecting to wake up in such an awesome room. With a TV, a comfy bed and my own bathroom. It was wonderful. Waking up to a great room really does make a painful procedure that much better. The second time was for my wisdom teeth and, although I didn't get my own room this time, the short stay was just as nice! Third time lucky - bones cut out of my foot (don't ask). Again I had my own room, en-suit and all. Lucky me! The whole hospital is so fresh, clean and crisp. Pretty much exactly what you want and expect from one! I don't want to say "come on guys go and visit" or "I can't wait to go again" but I will say if you ever find yourself heading into Southern Cross for whatever reason I'm sure the experience will be good.

Generally you come here for bloods, xray, baby visits, eye check-ups, physio, diabetes appointment, pre-screen for hospital admission, day surgery etc! They have a Muffin Break and a pharmacy! So you can have a quiche and get your prescription:) Clean loos, friendly volunteers to point you in the right direction and sometimes they have craft stalls! Local to Greenlane, Remuera, Onehunga, Orakei and Auckland City.

I've had mixed feigns about the medical staff here. Some are brilliant, others near useless. The appointment wait times for everything but blood tests have almost always been 30-60 minutes. Some of the staff seem slow but a long wait might also mean someone else is getting thorough treatment or support. So I don't mind waiting. The pharmacy is well stocked. The signage for each reception and waiting area is quite clear. But they could do with magazines from at least the last two years in the waiting areas.

To accommodate those in wheelchairs (or for the entertainment of small children) they have a button on both sides of the front door that will automatically open it for you. They don't have onsite parking but there is plenty of street parking available in the area. It is recommended that you book before turning up to this medical centre as they are usually quite busy. Booking in the morning you will obviously have more of a chance of getting in and seeing your selected GP. Although this medical centre has all the niceties about it, it is very expensive. I suppose it is Remuera and that's to be expected, but it's certainly not cheap to come here. They do however accept community service cards which can sometimes help discount the price.

Starship Children's Health is the largest (specialist) paediatric hospital in New Zealand I…read morebelieve! I have visited CED (with my son) which is the Children's Emergency Department that is bright and friendly, with colourful chairs to sit on and nurses to match. The staff were all friendly and communicative from triage to consult with the doctor. They have little cars for the children to drive around in, lots of toys too. They is also a playground on level 2 with a radio station! If your child, needs to be admitted (for any reason) you know they will have the best care possible, without a doubt! Starship Hospital is a special place.

There were lots of frustrated people in that lobby let me tell you. I heard one guy say he had been waiting for six hours. I asked a few times about the wait and what would happen when the doctor finally saw me and got lots of conflicting answers.
