This is hard to rate. I took my 86-year-old mother in for care. They were extremely kind to her…read more There's a lady in the office who wears hearing aids and kept taking them out of her ears to show my mother that even younger people use hearing aids, and how easy they were to take in and out. She must have taken them in and out at least 10 times during the visit and never washed her hands and continue to touch my mother. This was a little over-the-top and grossed my mother out. My mother was very confused as to why she was offered three sets of exactly the same hearing aids and was told that the price of the ones that she needed would cost $6000 (most expensive). Apparently the hearing aids are the same but the office can adjust the capabilities. The packages were offered as silver, gold, and platinum . She did a trial for two weeks and did not feel that her hearing was greatly improved and ended up not purchasing anything. She was not offered other types of technology. So ,I am not sure if they even had other things for my mom to try. I believe the root of the problem was that the staff were so kind that my mother did not buy in to the fact that she was deaf and left feeling that for $6000, everyone around her should just talk louder. Bottom line is that they should have been more firm in presenting the diagnosis and follow up if someone states that the hearing aids did not help them after a two week trial. And... elderly people are stubborn, if someone does not feel that they are $6000 worth of hard of hearing, no matter how great the staff are, the person can't be helped. If I had hearing problems, I would probably go to this office, but that employee needs to keep her hearing aids in her own ears. And I feel that perhaps they need to offer more products. Again, VERY kind staff!!

I also never expected a 5 star experience at an Audiologist office, but I was mistaken. From the friendly and helpful receptionist Jan, to Dr. Davlin, this is the place to go if you need an Audiologist. They offer a good selection of invisible or well hidden hearing aids and the full range of audiology therapy. It may sound cheesy but they are the type of people who I would go back to just say hi and chat with for a few. Plus I can actually hear what they are saying now. Highly recommended.

I have been a client…read morefor well over fifteen years, and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Brock and his staff. They're just WONDERFUL! I have an uneasy relationship with my hearing loss and hearing aids. I don't particularly care that I'm hard of hearing, and I just train people to look at me when they speak. I don't like hearing aids and consider them a necessary evil. I either haven't worn them, or only wore one, most of my life since age 13. Things changed when my son fell on the stairs in NY, and I couldn't hear him crying for me. My mother, who has acute hearing and a terrible temper, brought him upstairs and yelled, "You need to wear a damn hearing aid!" Well pfft. Upon our return to Colorado, I shuffled my feet off to Hearing Rehab Center, as it was then. I sulked during the hearing test. Dr. Brock fitted me with a top-of-the line LEOPARD-printed hearing aid. I LOVED it. It was tiny, amazing, and LEOPARD. Dr. Brock suggested that I get two, but I refused. Ex-husband and kid(s) were extremely noisy. He never pushed me to get a second one. Over the years, I've stopped by many times for batteries, new domes, new tube thingies, and the occasional overdue hearing test. I've also run over in a complete panic when my aid didn't work. This was usually because of a loose wire. I had to eventually replace the leopard aid, and Dr. Brock guided me to what he thought was the best choice for me. A tiny Oticon aid, in an unfortunate shade of burgundy that matches Oriental rugs perfectly. I am exceedingly grateful to Dr. Brock for making a bad situation (hearing loss) better. He's a genuinely kind, very nice, and thoroughly professional audiologist. He REALLY knows his field, and keeps up with the latest developments and technology. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He's also very pleasant in that he won't push you into making a choice. I really appreciate that. Excellent hearing aids are expensive, even with special pricing. HearUSA has partnered with a couple of major manufacturers in order to offer discounts on some aids. HearUSA also offers the OTC aids for$999. These are suitable for people with mild to moderate loss. Unfortunately, mine is more severe, so those won't help me. But for metalheads or age-related loss, these could work.

While I waited for my appointment, there were fresh-baked cookies sitting on the coffee/tea bar and comfortable chairs to sit in. I met with Dr. Megan who patiently explained what they could do for me with my tinnitus and hyperacusis. I learned things about my condition that no other doctor could tell me. Megan was so patient, kind and informative. After receiving a very thorough hearing test, I was fitted with hearing aids that are meant to help me not be anxious or as aware of the noises coming from inside and outside my head. My sensitivity to noise started right after a head injury and have been debilitating. I now have great hope that in the future, I will be able to live a normal life going to restaurants, supermarkets, concerts and church, movies and more. Thank you, Sound Relief.

My tinnitus is terrible and it finally got so bad, that I needed help. I went here and got a hearing evaluation. I was then told I needed a 1K MRI to determine whether or not there was a benign tumor putting pressure on the inside of my ear. I could not afford it so I didn't do it. 6 months later, I can't stand it so I go back and get another evaluation. This time I am told there is another, very inexpensive test that can be done in the office and it would determine if I really need a MRI or not. I went for the test and I had a migraine brewing all day so it wasn't a good day to begin with. I told the PA that I just wanted to have the test done and leave. She did the test , then put me in a room with bright flourescent lights. My migraine went into hyper drive. After 10 minutes of not being acknowledged, I stormed out. So far this doesn't sound like it could be a 5 star review but here's where it gets good. Dr. Pingree called me after I paid the bill and enclosed a note voicing my displeasure. He asked me to tell him in detail what happened and what led to my negative experience. Has anybody EVER had this happen before? I haven't. I was happy to relate to him the details and he was very happy to tell me that this experience will be used as a way to train staff to be more respsonsive to patients and their needs. The point is that Dr. Pingree took time to listen to me and I could sense that he was deeply concerned about his customer care. I will defenitely give them another opportunity to help me in the near future.

She visited this practice because she had questions about the different components of her hearing aids which she never had before and it can be confusing for anyone, regardless of age. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply upsetting. The receptionist was dismissive and unable to answer simple questions about the hearing aid components. Instead of taking the time to explain the differences, my mother was charged $38 simply to have her hearing aids cleaned, even though that was not the primary reason for her visit AND SHE DIDNT ASK FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What happened next was even more concerning. When my mother continued asking questions about her hearing aids, he did not patiently explain them. Instead, he told her she was "crazy," that she "needed help" and a "support system." He then had my mother sit in his office and write down the names and phone numbers of people who could help her, asking whether she was okay, despite there being no medical emergency or behavior that warranted this treatment. It was humiliating and completely inappropriate. Older adults deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Asking questions about hearing aids does not justify being made to feel incompetent or mentally unstable. After this experience, I read another review describing a similar pattern of behavior involving alarming comments about a patient's cognition. Seeing another family describe concerns about communication and judgment makes me feel our experience may not have been an isolated incident. I am filing a formal complaint because I believe patients especially elderly patients deserve compassionate communication, careful explanations, and respect. I sincerely hope this practice evaluates how patients are treated so no other family has an experience like ours.
