I traveled to town and handled the cremation paperwork in person and was told his ashes would be ready by the end of the week (which I would still be in town). I picked up the ashes (which were split into 2 temporary urns) before traveling back home 7 hours. I was contacted a few days later to advise that they *think* the ashes I had in my possession were not correct. The boxes were sealed and the outside stated they were my father. In order to verify we had to open the boxes where clear bags contained my father. Which after a sudden and recent loss this was absolutely gutwrenching. Low & behold, the tag inside was not my father's and I had some other persons ashes. To which it was confirmed another person had MY DAD'S ASHES instead of me! Griffin seemed like they wanted to remedy the situation quickly as I was obviously upset and they significantly screwed up. I spoke to Brittany (the director) and the owner traveled to my house overnight to collect the ashes. I spoke to both of them that due to this negligence & major screw up, I would anticipate compensation once the correct ashes were given to me. Though I was very upset by the call I tried to remain calm and treat them both with respect as I know neither the director or owner was the person who mixed up these ashes and it was likely done at the crematorium. They both apologized and acknowledged they would absolutely be compensating me for this grave error. It took them several days to get my father's ashes correct (I would hope they are actually him but of course I'll never know for sure given this situation). To which they aimed to overnight ship them to me. I specifically requested several times to use UPS or FedEx as the US Postal Service has been consistently unreliable. I then received a shipping confirmation of NOT OVERNIGHT and also through the US Postal Service. I had to spend several days then stressing out to hope everything would make it to me. I received the package and set up a call several days later to discuss compensation. Brittany was late to our call because she was "driving and then checking into a hotel,"though we previously arranged this call you would think she would have had her schedule cleared... ? The call started and the funeral home had the gall to offer me a "free cremation". I could not even believe they thought this was adequate. First of all I met with Brittany for my father's cremation paperwork. She saw me in person. I am 33 years old! Also I live 7 hours away. I told her she couldn't be serious... not only would I not use this funeral home again even if it was for my dead goldfish, I would hope I have about 50-60 years left and also I live in another STATE. This was an unacceptable response given the scenario it was not even remotely reasonable. This wasn't some messed up fast food order they could just give me a coupon code for... I then told her no, absolutely not, and I felt a full refund at this point was the bare minimum given the gravity of the situation. She advised since it was more than $700 they had to contact corporate and she would be back in touch with me in a day or so. I never heard from her again. I called and emailed to which I was ghosted. I have since hired an attorney to proceed accordingly. I will be also contacting the state board to report them. The absolute grave negligence and emotional distress this place put me through is disgusting and I hope no one else ever has to go through this while grieving their parent. I would recommend you run as far as possible from this place.

Most of us moved away many years ago, so when opinions started coming in because of present ownership we were confused. We chose Miller's anyway and found out that The Miller Family does still own the location in Monore. We were warmly greeted and treated with the utmost kindness and care. William listened and anwered all of our many, many questions. He was dealing with three women, so you know how that can be. Our mother was presented beautifully and the level of care and attention to detail was outstanding. All that to say we had a truly and amazing experience of comfort , respect and service.

They were so friendly and nice even though I simple needed a price. There was not one push to have me buy anything or a list of things i would need to do etc. I called around to 7 other places...with every single one immediately telling me all the things I could get and do, (even though I said I only needed a cremation). One fella told me he was the cheapest in town for what I needed. I called Rick back at Miller and asked again about the price because I was sure it had been wrong. It was not. Rick was so kind in listening to my situation and helpful and when he said they really are concerned with helping families I believed him 100%. And he still didn't try to sell me anything. They have the most beautiful and professional website. They have the kindest people on the phone. They made me feel at peace that they were going to be taking care of my brother. If I lived there myself I would be more than happy to have Miller Funeral Home take care of me, my family or my friends. They are simply wonderful, lovely, caring people!! How badly can you screw up a funeral? Rose-neath did in five different ways! Not only did they…read morewrite the pamphlet all wrong, despite being given multiple corrections, we had to go re-write and reprint at our own expense. Secondly, we told the guy several times how to pronounce basic last names. Despite that, the guy who got up on the podium and talked, mispronounced three out of four of the last names. And they're not even unusual ones. Speaking of that guy, it was clear and evident to everyone there that didn't even know my grandfather. He got up there and gave a couple of incoherent, short sentences about Jesus that didn't even seem to make sense. And only said a couple of incoherent things about my grandfather....that came straight from the poorly written, incoherent pamphlet! He was so apathetic and incompetent about the whole process that I literally thought he should be fired on the spot. Within 3 minutes of the funeral being over, which was an infuriating trainwreck, we hadn't even made it out of the chapel and into the front greeting area before they had everything packed up including his pictures and memorabilia in the lobby and had whisked it all away or set on the benches people were supposed to sit on. Later on I asked, do y'all have another funeral right away? And the woman said...not until the next morning. So why the rush to pack everything up right in front of us and get us the hell out of there? I would understand if we were engaging in a brawl fight! But to shove crying people out the door bc youre impatient....thats just wrong. To top it all off, what should have been a 40-minute drive to the cemetery, turned into a 2-hour long, 65-mile winding trip because the guy driving the front car got lost. At one point we ventured into Texas and came back to the cemetery in North LA. While they were turning around, they turned around in the middle of someone's front yard. When we got to the interrment at the cemetery, they wanted to laugh and joke and horse around with my grandmother and not actually conduct the interrment! The same guy got up and spoke a few more words, and made it clear, yet again, he did not actually know my grandfather. And then, he randomly says something out loud about Jesus and it was very difficult to follow whatever story he was talking about. Extremely random, detached, apathetic, and not very well delivered. In summary, if there's anything they can mess up at your family member's funeral, they will! The pamphlets, the service, the interment, the drive, rushing you out after the funeral, Etc. Go somewhere else!
