If you're interested in natural childbirth and postpartum education, this is the place for you. The general consensus- this class is friggin amazing. Amy creates a really open, relaxed environment from starting each class with a little get to know you activity among the parents, leaving space for questions, rocking awesome Bob jams, and burning incense. Many laughs are shared too :) Who knew you could have fun and get educated when learning about a mucus plug. She does have a uterus shaped pool that class is hosted in/at during the summer months. That is something to look forward to. The class is 12 weeks long. I chose the Monday night class from 6:15-8. There are other options. The price is $295

She shared the same views we did on childbirth and made…read moreme very comfortable knowing that with her I would have the kind of birth the hospital failed me on with my previous babies.Then things took a horrible turn, upon asking my husband where he work she started bashing his job and saying how horrible it was. This turned to her pushing her political views on us in a very hasty and bitter manner. I'm very pro choice and feel people are entitled to their opinions but considering what we were seeing her for it was just tremendously unprofessional and made me so uncomfortable. That night I went home and cried, the experience made me so upset. I felt defeated and lost all care to even look for other midwives, fearing going through that sort of harassment again. I told my husband I don't even want to try and have a baby anymore, the experience completely stole my excitement.

When I worked I had good insurance and went to Unity Point doctors/hospitals and while the care sometimes was good and sometimes bad but more bad then good. I have had better care at Broadlawns then I have had at Unity Points care.
