Rooms were cozy, and clean with a fireplace and a deck to admire the beauty of the surrounding area. The room only came equipped with a mini refrigerator but there is a microwave accessible to all guests. The breakfast was the best eaten in the dining area with great views. Fresh cooked daily- eggs, a protein, and pastry. (Muffin or croissants while we were there). Also had the usual cereals and toast/ bagels and various flavored juices. Attempted to reserve additional nights but unfortunately someone beat us to the punch. Would definitely recommend this place.

The customer service Richard and the staff provide is top tier. They are all friendly, very informative, and helpful. Being our first time in Sun Peak during off season we weren't sure where to start. We got ton of recommendations provided and great information to make our trip what we wanted. The breakfast was better than many restaurants or home cooked meals I have ever had. I think the only thing I wish was for the opportunity to eat more of their delicious food. We knew on the first day it was the best vacation ever and our minds never changed. We already are talking about returning and I can't even wait. It's great for the whole family!

Great for us. New name - Sundance Lodge, not Coast. Best location for ski in/out and good value…read more Clean, beds comfortable, kitchen or a kitchenette in every room. The staff treats us like family. Premium room is worth it if you do serious cooking. Agreed: groomers are noisy and run all night. (We ask for a relatively quieter room and a village view and we use white noise). Yes, it was built in 1996, but we like the feel of it being older. We're 70+ skiers. We like that one can go right out the ski room door and ski downhill 100'ish to the Sundance lift at 8:30. A short walk across the road under the covered bridge to Morrisey can be great for first tracks when there's new snow. Access is so easy we take a mid day break in the room. You can ski all downhill to the door from the Rambler or Sunrise. (see the map). The highlight for us is the guided tours by the Sun Peaks Hosts. They'll guide you to the best areas, away from the fog, wind, ice, hardpack etc. We love the Sundance and have returned year after year since 2013. Seattle and Bellingham Washington.

We stopped by in October and stayed for only one night. It was off season at the ski resort so we got a room at a great value and it was very quiet. It's a beautiful location and I can imagine how busy it must get during the snow season because it was dead when we were there. Most of the village shops and some of the restaurants were open when we were there. We were able to get dinner at a pizza spot and breakfast, but the village was nearly deserted. The rooms are outdated and old. I did enjoy that the room was huge and big enough for a big family. There was a small kitchenette, a dining table, fireplace, and a TV. The bed was comfortable, very clean and there were no bedbugs. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and engaging she even gave us advice on where to park at.

You will be told "no" and they will keep your money ... in our case $2800. Wish we had realized what we had committed to when we booked back in October for a New Year Ski Trip. They required full amount within 30-days of arrival, then the property manager was unwilling to work with us after our family came down with COVID over Christmas. VRBO and Air B&B offer larger (~1,000+ sq ft) accommodations with private hot tubs, and modernized ski-in/ski-out locations for the same price if not less which I wish we had done instead of working with Bear Country. We looked at their 10+ yr old videos online and saw just how itty bitty and out dated their accommodations were that average ~550 sq ft with a community hot tub. EW. We booked 3 days of lift tickets, ice-fishing trip, and horse drawn carriage ride and everyone except Bear Country worked with us to reschedule our reservations for the end of Jan 2023. Greed over Customer Service loses every time. We'll never work with Bear Country EVER again and we've shared this with the skiing community in the greater Seattle, BC, Colorado, Texas, California, and everything in-between both family and friends. Only book here if you're really hard up, and pray you don't have an issue showing up, as they will keep your money. AVOID!

Date of stay: December 23 to December 27, 2011…read more Reason: Spend Christmas as a family snowboarding together. Expectations: Cozy/Home-like, quiet, easy access to the slopes, clean. I stayed at this lodge during december christmas break. I overall found the experience very plesant. The staff I got were polite, not very efficient, but for a very laid back atmosphere it is something to be expected. When I first walked into the lodge I found it to be very family geared...very cozy and does remind me of a lodge. The lady at the checkin was really friendly (and like most staff out of town or country). She did fail to tell me when cleaning time was (which was different each day) and maybe it was expected but the wifi there was free and you had to ask... But the wifi was extremely slow and painfully unuseful. Even though it was free...I couldn't use it at all... Talk about being quiet :) So the room we got was on the 4th level. It reminds me of a Vancouver downtown apartment but more "lodge" styled. The ceilings were really tall. The windows we had were big. And you can open them. The fireplace was electric and has a timer. The kitchenette overall is good. Something you'd find in most hotels/motels in Vancouver that had a kitchenette. They supplied most cooking utensils which is a nice bonus because I remember a few stays at another hotel and it was ironic how I got the whole kitchen but no cooking utensils... Maybe it is standard but it was a great feeling to know there were pans and pots to use. The only complaint about this was the kettle...it had like scale...I ended up using the coffee maker but it is glacier water and not completely filtered so it tasted a little "different" them what I was used to. But I took care of that by being bottled water and boiling it in the pot. The beds were Simmons (at least the room I stayed in were)... But they were a little soft for my liking. The bathroom is generic...like best western or holiday inn (like the cheaper rooms). They had a very clean tub...the shower pressure wasn't really hard so we all had to accommodate with longer showers...which isn't so bad after snowboarding but is bad when washing your hair and it doesn't feel like the shampoo is rinsed out but that isn't in our control so we accommodated). The room cleaning service came at odd hours. The first day it came at 1: 30...them the next was 4 and the day after was 11am. The service is nice overall...like I called to ask for more blankets...I didn't have to wait too long for them...I asked for clean towels I got them... But they are (during busy season...) Not so sufficient in supplies of luggage carriers and small services... But it isn't too big of a deal on our end...but nice to mention if you plan to go and have elders or people that can't carry a lot then be forewarded. There are a lot of free amenities. Hot tub, gym, play room (which I've mistaken for as a small conference room). The hot tub does remind me more of a sauna... But maybe it was the cohabitants that made it that way. The gym was very very small, but it does its job because it us sort of weird if everyone goes there to ski or snowboard and after a long day of that you'd want to go to ever gym... But it is nice. I did wish they had cleaning sprays and paper towels to wipe the used equipments. If you want to watch movies or play with the Wii console then young have to ask dbms sign it out. There are loads of board games too. The lower level rooms had hot tubs outside...it was pretty nice until I saw young half naked ladies prancing around... It just got a little weird seeing it cause they were way out of the perimeter of the hot tub location. :) There wasn't a restaurant attached to the lodge, but one that is built connecting the other hotel... It is a little strange to explain because threw hotels are disconnected yet the restaurant is built in such a way that you'd think it is for Cahilty but it is for the hotel beside it. The lodge is close to the slopes and there is a small shopping complex for your needs. The grocery store does closer at 4pm though. Lots of dogs...very friendly. If you need more information please contact me...just in case I have missed something. Will I go back? Yes. Why? Because it offered a good price for the rooms and they gave all the basic needs at a good standard...for the reason I went I got a lot more out of the room.

This hotel is getting a bit run down. We had a tiny room that barely fit our family of 4 (2…read moreadults, 2 kids). 2 Queen beds and pillows were a bit lumpy. No minibar fridge in our room at all (I don't recall staying in any hotel room in the past 10 years without a mini fridge!!). Room lacked a lot of good lighting. Washrooms were old and shower heads very weak. Not much hot water either during certain times of day (eg. 4pm). Hated the ski storage room, which you have to walk thru their basement parking lot full of car exhaust fumes. The tiny ski storage room doesn't have any lockers, instead they cram a few racks of ski keys locks for you to hang your skis on. Luckily, the staff working there are very friendly, and the location is great as it's a short 5-10 min walk to all major places in the sun peaks village area. Taking the kids to ski school each morning was very easy, as you have to walk up one flight of stairs with your skis and your right on a green run called the Gentle Giant, which you can ski right to the main lodge where ski school begins at 9am each morning. Free popcorn during the movie nights in the hotel main floor meeting room.
