From the deserts to the sub-arctic and everything in between, the gardens have it. Expect to spend four to five hours to get the full experience. We sat outside on the top deck at a table that was partially covered from the sun. The audio narration is done in German and English. The food and beverage service was nice and had an extensive offering. The restrooms were on the lowest level (-1) and were modern and clean. The cruise was slow enough to walk around safely, which I did, taking about 100 photos. I can recommend this cruise to anyone. And I'd suggest taking the 50 minute cruise as you see plenty.

On my very first night in Strasbourg, I spotted one of these boats along the river and immediately…read moreknew I had to take a tour before leaving town. They offer several sightseeing routes ranging from about 17 minutes to 1 hour and 10 minutes. My parents and I chose the 45 minute cruise, which ended up being the perfect option, especially since our boat did not have a covered top and we were visiting during an intense Euro-summer heat wave with temperatures over 100°F. The tour was a wonderful way to see the city from a different perspective. We learned about Strasbourg's history through a recorded audio guide available in multiple languages, which made the experience very accessible for international visitors. One of the highlights was passing through the canal locks. For tickets, you can purchase them online or at the visitor center located near the cathedral. Our hotel provided a 10% discount code, which was definitely appreciated since the price is in euros and the exchange rate can add up. Despite the extreme heat, I am so glad we did this tour. It was relaxing, informative, and offered beautiful views of Strasbourg's waterways and historic architecture. I would absolutely do it again on a future visit and preferably when the weather is a bit cooler.
