We were completely pleased with our experience at this shop. The sales staff was very helpful, but also gave us some space to shop on our own. When we had questions, they were helpful - but not pushy. Their pricing was fair, but I was concerned about the cost of shipping items back to the USA. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the shipping costs were also extremely fair, and were offset by the VAT savings for international purchases. The package arrived at our home faster than we had anticipated. The care taken in packing the products was immediately evident. All of our items were in perfect condition! I highly recommend buying your clocks from Heidi und Peter's Ladl. All of the workers I met were extremely friendly and willing to demonstrate the cuckoo clocks I was looking at. I received a free magnet with each clock that I purchased, and was even given a can of Edelweiss flower seeds with the last clock I purchased (I made several trips to this shop). I had them ship the cuckoo clock to my home in the United States, which took about 2 weeks to arrive. This is a touristy shop but has a wide assortment of cuckoo clocks, both traditional and avant-garde. I love this shop. It is "touristy", but they have the best selection of German made Christmas items, steins, and cuckoo clocks. I came in to purchase a Black Forest cuckoo clock. The selection is over 100 clocks. The hand-made workmanship is artisan. The store manager speaks very good English and was extremely helpful. They delayed the shipping until I arrived home from my vacation. My clock is now hanging up in my home and is a wonderful reminder of my fabulous trip through Passau, Germany. read more

I purchased an 8 day Black Forest Clock from this establishment on July 10/15 and paid 975 Euros or $1,425.10 Canadian. Shortly after installing the clock I noticed the clock wasn't keeping accurate time and the music box and figurines operated sporadically and eventually completely stopped. From July 26/15 to Oct. 9/17 a total of 106 emails were exchanged in an effort to have the warranty honoured. The clock was subsequently sent back for repair. For 6 months the clock functioned perfectly but now the music box and figurines no longer function. The figurines are of such poor quality that the internal mechanism is unable to overcome the friction of the various animated figurines. If you want to purchase a Black Forest Cuckoo and have expectations of it working I would NOT recommend that you purchase. I may have to resort to taking the clock apart to see if I can fix it myself. Like the other posted reviews I agree that the employees at the store are very nice people. It is unfortunate that the products they are selling is junk. Paul J. read more
