I went into Walmart yesterday And I meet these two girls trying to get to me to donate to a charity. They couldn't take cash they could only do a renewal and I'm like I don't like this oh don't worry do you not trust me. So then she tells me this is going to be an annual amount you have to pay once a year.l told her I'm not comfortable with that. Because I don't know who you are. Anyway I sign up and then I read reviews on Reddit and they are terrible. Takes calling here one guy said seven times to finally get the right person to cancel. So today I call oh yes we're going to cancel it we'll send a confirmation email in five business days! I said why does it take five business days when I signed up for this You sent an email within 30 seconds and you texted me within a minute. She said I don't know sir that's just the procedure. So I said well if I don't get an email by Monday I'm going to go in my bank and dispute the transaction because I was not informed of any of this when I gave money and also that my personal information was going to be shared. I told her I never signed up for that they have all my personal information and banking shared with company so you can make more money! Never again! After I let them take my credit card information within 1 minute I got an email So why can't they send me an email after I cancel right away just more lies! So on Monday I'm going to dispute the transaction because of the lies of this charity! read more

We stopped here before we visited the Heifer Headquarters in Little Rock! It was great seeing the animals up close. Also Heifer Village is neat, you can see different homes from different parts of the world! My kids' favorite was the Thailand house! Someday I hope to stay here with my kids at one of the camps they offer! It was free to park and do a self-guided tour. read more

Great place to visit, eat lunch, bring groups, walk around, shop, etc. such a jewel in the area. And it's FREE. There is something for everyone, and you can spend 15 min to several days, depending on your interest level. And if you go, stay for lunch. Most food is produced right there at the ranch and it's soooooo goooood. Best salad bar in the county. read more

I first heard about the Heifer Ranch Project from my Mother-In-Law who lives in the same tiny, Arkansas town, Perryville (45 miles NW of Little Rock) where the ranch is located. The family took a tour here and we were very impressed. The Heifer Ranch is a working example of the "sustainable agriculture" that the Heifer Project supports around the world, thus the 'International" part. Fast forward to a couple of years later, we participated in the Yelp Charity Auction and I discover that Amaliya L. is naming the Heifer Project as her charity. Awesome! Of course we bid on her charity (and won BTW!) Here are some tidbits of what I learned during our tour experience... * The Heifer Ranch includes a "Global Village" housing over 15 species of animals, organic gardens and an International Shop. (It was very interesting, especially for us animal lovers) * For almost 60 years the Heifer Project has helped (by teaching) people to obtain a sustainable source of food and income. (They give a video presentation as part of the tour) * At this location...the ranch...is where they raise most of the donated livestock. * Conference Center and Lodging are available for groups, they even have private sleeping/bath/meal packages. * The Heifer Project's mission ..."attempting to end world hunger and poverty and caring for the earth." * Visitors are welcome to drop-in for a tour. Visitor Center hours are Monday-Saturday from 9-5 p.m. They are always looking for volunteers to help provide care for the livestock and gardens and help with administrative tasks. If I lived closer, this would be one of my volunteer go-to's. read more

Great experience. Went on the tour and watched an informational video beforehand. I'm a current college student and this made me interested in their volunteer program, where you can do long term, or just summers. Overall, great experience and a great program to donate and/or become involved in! read more

Neat to see their animals. There is a timeline to look at some of the history of the organization and a map to show some of where they work. There was no video and I didn't learn a lot more about the organization than what I already knew. read more
