Decent selection of stores but not nearly as diverse or large as other depots. The prices are alright but not exactly a bargain. You're better off buying online than here, unless you really need something in passing. Workers are nice and the shelves in all the stores are kept clean. Rado watches are here so that was great to see. Liquor prices were lower than back home (Orange County, CA) but not enough to make it worth the hassle of buying and transporting/carrying. Heinemann is a great duty free chain serving most European airports and VIE is no exception. They actually have several locations at this airport but this is the main one and the one you should be visiting. Service has always been excellent when I went here and I had experienced sales staff help me with my decisions. They also help when you only have a photo of the item from some article or website as it was in my case. The stores are alway super clean and have a good layout. I strongly suggest that you join their Heinemann & Me online club as this allows you to select a "ME of the month" which makes for 20% of a single article of your choice. That way, you can get most perfumes at the lowest price available even compared to the online competition. It's very simple to join and you can simply use their phone app for the purchase. Another reason to go to Heinemann at any airport is that they simply offer very cheap bottled water. It is usually only 1€ for 500ml which is unbeatable in the post-security zone. Here at VIE it was 1,50€ which is still a bargain. There is simply no reason to pay 3€ for a bottle of water at an airport if there is a Heinemann store closeby. You can even pay such small purchases with your credit card which is perfect for international travellers. read more

Do the research as there are some items that offer good value but the whisky offering is expensive unless you manage to get some special offers. You will find smaller shops dotted around the airport but by far try and pick it up at the main DF store. read more
