I'd been trying to test this case for years and finally thought I'd found the right partner. It would've been simple filings, I agreed to pay and was good for it, he seemed interested in the novel theory, I presented sample filings, and HE ACCEPTED IT. He told me to send the initial letters which I promptly did, I received the replies which I forwarded to him, but I never, ever heard from him again, not even when it became an issue of I need to know if we're doing this or I will be in default--just 100% ghosted me. No "sorry I just don't have time" or "I changed my mind"--that would've sufficed instead of allowing me to think he might still be out there if I could just catch him in the right moment. Aside from the rudeness of this, the unprofessionalism is breathtaking. Nobody wants to have to call a lawyer. If we do, it's often b/c something has gone horribly wrong, and we are particularly vulnerable. To treat people this way in that state is, to use a legal term, unconscionable.
