I was able to try an ice cream flavored with their local Sour Orange used in cochinita pabil, and my wife was able to try their take on a local pumpkin and even a local mushroom! All flavors exceeded my expectations and made me wish I returned each day to try a new flavor. Instead of a tourist shop serving heaps of Oreo-flavored gelato, you will be greeted with a friendly smile and a touch of the Yucatan. Once inside I asked in Spanish for their recommendation instead of just choosing one. The kid at the counter recommended Mamey and Guanábana which I had never heard of. He showed me what the fruit looked like and described them well. I chose the Mamey and it was excellent! It was wonderful just enjoying the men in their coral guayaberas and this beautiful sorbeteria 10/10 experience, muchas gracias!

They're popular - most of the tables were occupied when we stopped by. Given the climate and heat and humidity, it totally made sense. The in-laws enjoyed their sweet and cold treats for sure. The staff were very nice not just to us but to all their guests, making sure everyone got what they needed. They also got everyone's goodies out fast, so the wait wasn't bad at all. Need a place to cool down? This is a good spot for it.

Right across the street was this place, so we didn't have to trek too far. Tons of seating and tables available so we weren't worried about that. Hubbers went for a mango sorbet and I wanted to try something new so I went for the guanabana. While waiting, I told Hubbers the name sounds familiar. Then it dawned on me: it's the same moniker as the one we went to after bike riding a few days before. Good to know! They are popular. There were endless customers coming through mainly just to have something to help deal with the heat, and then on their merry way. We took our time since we weren't in a hurry. Loved my guanabana sorbet. It wasn't too sweet, it didn't melt fast and it was simply refreshing. It's probably the first time in a long time I finished a dessert all by myself. I got to try Hubbers' mango sorbet - a bit too sweet for me, but refreshing nonetheless. Keeping them on my radar should I need to cool off the next time I come through.
