    A bowl of Gelato.

Amazing Gelato. Various flavors all good. My favorite is the peanut butter caramel chocolate chips. Cash only. Helado increíble. Varios sabores todos buenos. Mi favorito son las chispas de chocolate con caramelo y mantequilla de maní. Solamente efectivo.

THIS STUFF IS SO GOOD. And what's even better is that the staff are very friendly to those of us (*ahem*ME*ahem*) with limited vocabulary in Spanish. The shop was clean, air conditioned and spacious in the seating area. Great for a quick cool-down. 10/10 I recommend this spot to any and all visitors. Sam Approved

The flavors are so fun & taste incredible. The blue cheese one is amazing. This place is a must while in Mérida!

My boyfriend was really craving some gelato. It's really the only sweet thing he ever craves. So I went to the Yelp stratosphere to see what Merida had to offer. On our way home was this little gem. It had so many good reviews from Yelp I knew we couldn't pass it up. I loved the atmosphere of the place. Small, quaint, and to the point. They had a TON of unique flavors! Ill name some of the ones we tried that night: Kiwi, Mezcla de Mandarina y manzana, ChocoMango, Mamey(No idea what this was), Pinarindo(I think they said this was pineapple with peppermint?), Platano con Jamaica (Banana with hisbuics fruit?), Mojito, Taka, Ron Con Pasas, Moka, and the one I got that I LOVED Stracciatella. The Stracciatella is Italian, and I think its very basic- Just vanilla with chocolate chunks. But the taste was out of this world good! The girl behind the counter let us try as many as we wanted. She was so sweet and did her best to tell us what each thing was in English. Prices were great. And there was a decent amount of seating. The gelato was delicious!! I would definitely recommend this place for a nice, quick dessert at the end of the night.

Cool sitting area with a fan!

Excellent and varied. The blue cheese one was a step too far for me, but all the others were delicious.

I loved the rosemary lime, but I've heard the salted caramel is fantastic as well- must get in the homemade cones too!

From Chicago, first time at Oliva today. Here are my thoughts:…read more -We had a bigger party of 8 people and made reservations ahead of time. They gave us a perfect private room! -We ordered the bruschetta for an appetizer, and it was excellent! The tomatoes were really, really good. -I got the cacio y pepe for my entree and it was easily the best I've ever had outside of Italy : ) Very tender pasta, in a peppery white sauce. -I tried the ravioli and it was delicious, nice spices and sauce. -Service was excellent! This place is on the fancier side. We got in with shorts, but more formal waiters, etc. -If I could only go back to one restaurant in Merida, this would be it. Highly recommended!

GREAT PLACE, RESERVATIONS RECOMMENDED - We've been here three times, twice inside and once outside…read more Inside it is very nice, attentive staff, and charming. Outside it was still pleasant but you sit on plastic chairs and most the diners outside, like us, waited about 30 minutes at our tables until our order was taken. Definitely the walk ons who eat outside seem to have less attention granted to them, but to sit inside you need a reservation when it is busy, so reservations are recommended. All that said once we placed our order the food was promptly served on all occassions. It was always rich and delicious, with all ingredients tasting super fresh. The flavors were bold but not overpowering, and the portion sizes were modest but fair. The prices were a bit high relative to other places you could find around here but generally speaking you pay for quality at this place. It's an excellent option for some homemade pasta and fantastic salads, but that also makes it super popular, so just be patient as you may need to wait at times. Still the wait is worth it, give it a chance you won't be disappointed. Happy eating! -John Seeto

Ordered a mango and strawberry daiquiri and they were not blended. Rim was something strange. Not salt, sugar nor tajin. Service was very slow. Chaya crepes were soggy, drowned in sauce to the point where it nauseated me. God help anyone who comes here looking for a fulfilling meal. Included gratuity into the check, but told me I didn't have to pay it if I didn't receive good service. What a weird spot to be put in!?

There's a great variety of drinks--nice traditional mezcalitas, chaya cocktails (with xtabentun), clericot, beer, wine, you name it. The last year or so they've had, in my opinion, a very fine singer/guitarist; she's there, I believe, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and maybe Saturdays. Music starts at 8:30 (it used to start at 8:00, and I wish it still did or at 7:30) -- no cover. (That's not to say that on the other nights you won't hear good music; over the years there have been many fine trova singers.) All in the atrium of an historic building: in our opinion, a special if not unique place in Merida.
