Do not hire this person as counsel or if you're looking for unbiased mediation. Not only is she not…read morea sister; I found her to be highly unethical and unprofessional. During my marriage, at-home motherhood phase of life, and subsequent divorce, I had become numb to sexist, condescending attitudes and dismissals from men and so-called "feminists" (basically insinuating that I'd gotten what I deserved, for "wasting" my education," "betraying working women," "abandoning my husband," etc., etc., ad nauseam), but I was still shocked into silence at how she treated me during the one and only session I could stomach with her. During this session, which added insult to a decade of injury, she displayed blatant scoffing, eye-rolling, and obvious bias toward and commiseration with my soon-to-be ex-husband ("knowing" glances exchanged, and even a little flirtation.) She was not immune to the charms of an abusive narcissist, didn't think I had a brain in my head, and thought I didn't deserve one red cent from the investment in and sacrifices for my family. She has zero respect for women's unseen and uncompensated labor (caregiving, housekeeping, "the mental load," etc.), and even less for those who choose to raise their children themselves (esp. b/c it makes a helluva lot more financial sense if you do the math), instead of hiring a nanny or parking them in daycare all day. And forget trying to point out the fact that you took care of pretty much everything else so your husband could grow by leaps and bounds in his career--pleading your case will fall on deaf, heartless ears. The breadwinner wins all in her book, I suppose. Perhaps she's a great lawyer, but she has no business working as a mediator, especially in family practice. Find yourself a TRUE feminist--a woman who respects and supports women from all walks of life, no matter what their current employment status or career choice.
