I can walk to work in 30 mins or take the bus. This was one of the many reason I wanted to rent here. The buses run so frequently which is ideal for me getting back and forth to Minneapolis on the weekends. The property is so inviting. The landscape is always well done and the pool area is always well kept. The caretaker is very friendly and does a wonderful job keeping the property clean. The maintenance workers are efficient and does a wonderful job at keeping the apartment clean after any repairs. The office staff is very responsive when you call and have an open door policy so you can feel free to stop by during business hours. I love that the each building only go up to the 3rd floor and only have 6 apartments on each floor. I feel safe when I enter the building because I can see the entire floor at a glance. I love that they have a laundry floor in each floor and you can use the laundry on any of the 3 floors. There's also an open yard area with gas grills for all the residents to use. The property is right across the street from Target, Cub Food, HarMar Mall and many restaurants. This is a supper plus for me because I don't drive. The one thing I wish the property had was a community room for residents to use when having family events. I highly recommend this property to prospective residents

His responses usually tell you that he didn't take the time to fully read and understand your complaint. At lease end, they will not walk through with you for a final inspection. They do their own walkthrough after you leave (shady). I hired my own cleaner and took pictures. Place was spotless and I even left them chocolates. Got my security deposit back 22 days later and was shorted $335 for 'black stains' on the living room carpet. No pictures or explanation. I emailed them asking for pictures of the stains, what they did to try and remove them, proof that it was my unit, etc. I got a response nearly a week later with a single full-frame closeup picture of some carpet with a black smudge next to a piece of paper with my unit number hand-written on it. Picture had no explanation/context, no timestamp, and was a closeup of some carpet (no way to prove it was even my unit). Elwood responded 2 weeks later, didn't address any of my concerns, simply stating that he believes the charges were fair and just. Other Notes: Maintenance man entered my apartment without consent or prior warning to change smoke alarm batteries that did not need replacing. Another maintenance man entered my unit per my request, but was caught rummaging through my cupboards. Police report filed with video evidence. I brought my concerns to property management and they dismissed my claims. Elwood/Woody refused to meet or talk with me regarding the matter. There is a garbage room located at the bottom of the central stairwell with no ventilation other than the stairwell, so it starts to smell quite often. When the smell gets unbearable, they paint the walls to mask the smell. The building is right next to an urban highschool. Somalian youth make up the population. I was woken up nearly every school day to loud screaming/swearing and fist fighting. Not family friendly. The garage ceiling has all of the plumbing pipes, which commonly leak (you can see water stains on the concrete floor). The ceiling is covered in a fire retardant coating that has a ton of mold growing in/on it. Landscaping is mediocre. Communal dryers would always leave my clothes damp due to bad airflow/lint-clogged ventilation. Be careful and take pictures. The office staff ladies are nice, but fairly slow.

Not only did the leasing agent & manager accommodate my lengthy list of needs (only 4 months with monthly renewal as needed, 2 50-lb dogs, remote contract agreement, truck-sized underground parking, in-unit laundry, modern/clean, location location location, and willingness to be onsite for temp furniture delivery/removal), but the place exceeded my expectations beyond that list. Beautiful, modern, clean, safe and in the center of Uptown. Loved living here. Completely safe building, with a large mail/package delivery room too. Extra storage places for bikes in parking garage. All secure. I don't think I took full advantage of the amount of space of the unit with my minimal rental furniture, but really appreciated the layout -- plenty of room for a large sofa, lounge chair, dining set, barstools, queen bed/dresser, walk-in closet, AND extra space up front to use as office/whatever. And the bathroom offered plenty of generous storage too. Loved the space. If not for having too much stuff (coming from a 4 bed/5 bath home) and 2 dogs demanding their own backyard, I'd have loved to stay at Laguna permanently.

The fact that my contact information was exposed, or whatever else information was exposed is an example of the lack of professionalism with Doran Group and Mill and Main. Leasing Agent IQ Levels are questionable. Refusal of a fully qualified application due to an argumentative "agent" who's mathematical skills are non-existent. Denigrating insulting tone, badgering attitude, and a tumultuous breathtaking failure. They did nothing to attempt to salvage a 13 month lease application worth $20K. Disgusted and angry as I write this. No response, no apology, no sense whatsoever... Shame on this leasing team, avoid!!!

The building is maintained as well as a hotel. The community rooms/amenities are spotless, the hallways are pristine and smell nice, and even the parking ramp is well-maintained. Maintenance issues, no matter how complex, are dealt with in the matter of several days, tops. The security guards manning the desk in the East building are courteous, professional, and will help you out to the best of their abilities. Another reviewer complained about not having been given access to an amenity at 11:45. Most everything stays open at night, and if it closes, it's because there's a liability present with personal safety or excessive noise (drunk people in the pool, perhaps?). There isn't a single property in the city that doesn't have set hours on the availability of certain amenities. Mill & Main has generous parking spots, a free car wash, and free underground guest parking. My friends all love coming to hang out at my apartment, because the building removes so many pain points from a typical 3rd-party visit. Bravo, Mill & Main. Keep up the good work.

During my tour, I admired the design and finish of the apartment building, and then the apartments themselves. I didn't see other apartments in this price range (sub-$2,000) with crown molding, subtle wall accent color, 1000+ sq ft, and even in-unit full-size washer/dryers. However, I would have preferred a more functional breakfast bar, a bit more kitchen counter space, and a gas range in lieu of the electric stove. Stoneleigh is a large complex with over 300 apartments spread across four buildings. The main building is pet-free and hosts two fitness centers, two common areas that can be rented for the day, along with the leasing offices. Speaking of leasing, ask for Barbara when you visit, as she was a joy to work with and on top of all of the paperwork with appropriate follow-up. There is a lovely large pool outside the main building, with charcoal grills beyond in a shaded picnic area (no propane grills available). Grocery stores, a Target, Starbucks, and the like are all a 5-minute drive away. A major bicycle trail heads north to Maple Grove from this complex.
