I tasked my husband with finding a place for dinner and this place caught his eye. When we looked at pictures of this place online, we knew it was the one. We got to the restaurant 1.5 hours before closing. They still had several customers left so it was still pretty busy. We ordered the banh xeo with pork, fried rice, and the lamb ribs. Everything was amazing but we could not get over how delicious the lamb ribs were! It's like umami perfection. The ribs were cooked perfectly and whatever sauce or seasoning they used was just fantastic. The staff were definitely busy running around but they didn't make us wait too long to order. Was a little hard to find as they are in between other restaurants and their store front is quite narrow. The rice noodle plate was what I ordered and it was ok. The egg rolls that came with it were strange to me and didn't taste great. The menu is rather small as well. read more

Staff was friendly and efficient at communicating when last time to order and when door closes since we came in later in the night for dinner. We put our order in with some friendly suggestions on their top things. The friend rice went perfect with the ribs. The ribs are divine and I could eat that everyday. The banh xeo was also delicious. Seating can be close to others which isn't the best if you happen to sit next to a loud group. read more

A great place for lunch. I love the turmeric pancake. A great dish to share with others. Get your hands dirty dripping with the dipping sauce! The truffle spring rolls are tasty, crunchy and very nutty. A very Generous serve of truffle in the ingredients! Don't forget to try a mock tail, especially the Long Beach! read more

Great location and atmosphere. The papaya salad had the very fresh taste I was expecting. I also had the duck gyoza and it was decent, but seemed to be missing a little something. Service was excellent. I remain a little peeved at the credit card surcharge at every Asian restaurant I visit here in Sydney. Some also have a minimum charge. Left a tiny sour taste. Regardless I'd come back and would recommend to others. read more

I've found my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Sydney! My friend took me to this lovely restaurant for lunch. Unlike usual Vietnamese restaurants, this place has a cool inner-west cafe like atmosphere which gives an unique experience. Welcomed by a big smile of the restaurant staff, we ordered several lunch specials and I happily give my 5 stars to all three dishes. (See my photos for those.) Finally a Vietnamese restaurant of the 21st Century. Decors of most of the Vietnamese restaurant seems like time has 'stopped' for them from the last century. We managed to get a table at 2.15pm on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant is still quite packed. Clean and nice décor. We waited for less than 5 mins and were ushered to our "small" table but clean. The menu is very simple 'printed' on a piece of paper and still quite limited in choice. We had two entrees and two mains. Our meals took almost 30 mins to be served to us. That is a "long time" esp when one of the dishes is only PHO ( Vietnamese Beef Noodle soup) . The Pork Belly is really good. Spoke to the cashier on the way out and asked her why so limited choices esp Dessert. She said there will be more dishes added in Jan 2016 as they are still 'relatively' new. Pity such a nice restaurant and 'not' fully ready yet. They did not even have Business Cards as I wanted to take some and pass on to my friends. I will be back to this restaurant as the food and presentation are good and the décor is clean and 'nice'. read more

The separate vegan menu here is fantastic, there are so many options. The tofu & truffle spring rolls are the best spring rolls I have ever had. The Banh Xeo is also tasty and they thoughtfully cut it up with scissors at the table, so it's easier to eat and share. The turmeric & coconut pikelets are full of flavour and arrive hot in their little skillet, with lettuce & mint to wrap. The only problem I had from my most recent visit is that their website states no lunch bookings, so we arrived at 12pm on the dot to ensure we could get a table for 6. The staff member who greeted us asked if we had a booking, I said no because your website says you don't take them, and she responded that most people ring up and book anyway. Luckily we got a table, but we would have been very disappointed to be turned away simply because they don't enforce their own rule. read more

I have eaten here 3 times since opening a few months ago and had I written my review after the first 2 visits they would have got 5 stars but visit number 3 - the service was off, really really off. Slow, forgetful and inconsistent, (Wine came without an ice bucket, glasses or a cork screw - yes it was under cork) we also had to repeatedly ask for table water and a few items from our order seemed to have been forgotten. The waiter half heartdly apologised and said "we are really really busy" but the restaurant was probably just over half full. The food itself is so so so good here with a real modern twist on Vietnamese. It is "upmarket" and "trendy" but it's also frickin delicious. The "Hello Uncle" is yum - braised beef, rice cakes and shaved foie gras *drool* and the DIY cold rolls are a good way to start with a group + the frozen slushie cocktails are fun. Everyone has an off-night every now and then so I will be back and with any luck, I'll be able to dish out an extra star. read more

Make sure you book! It's mainly share plates for 2-3 people. I really liked the duck salad and the pork belly. The whatchmcallit drink was nice! Servings are a bit small and is pricey. Especially when there's 500 other Vietnamese places to eat down the road. Nice modern twist though and making mville hip. I found the service a bit slow this particular night. read more

I was recommended this place by friends but was completely shocked by how appalling the food was!!! All of the floor staff were so lovely but our meals - wontons with burnt butter sauce, fried chicken and pork + tofu pancake - were all flavourless with no bite, not to mention overpriced. Shocked!
