But Dr. Peeran assured me I would come out of the surgery just fine. Although it seems invasive; the thought of someone cutting your neck and removing an artery for surgery, he assured me this was now routine surgery with less than 1% experiencing complications. Several years before I had suffered a major heart attack and after 3 agonizing nights in Portsmouth Regional Hospital I was not eager to submit to their care again. But the doctor said he would make sure this stay was better. Dr. Peeran's office staff are great. My appointments are scheduled and relayed to me in a timely manner and I never wait to see him. He saw me several times before the surgery and was always reassuring that I was going to come out of this surgery with a lower chance of stroke or heart attack and I believe him now that the surgery is over. Online I read many scary things about this surgery; that the recovery could take many months up to 1 year. One article from a respected medical journal advised me not to drive a car for the first month and that I would require help to get cleaned up and dressed every day. I do not have the financial means to pay for a personal valet but Dr. Peeran assured me this was not at all his experience. He reported that his patients were usually out and active just a few days after surgery and he was correct in my case. Once I was out of the hospital I have been able to care for myself completely. And I was able to begin driving my car by day 4. Now 6 days after my surgery I am still sore, still swollen and still having worriesome blood pressure readings but my surgeon's staff has continued to assure me that I am doing well and that my blood pressure will eventually stabilize. The fact that I am still here after 5 days is a very good sign. I am getting out of the house every day and doctors staff says I can begin distance walking as soon as I feel like it which may be today. I am so grateful to have such excellent medical care. I would highly recommend Dr. Peeran for this surgery. He appeared at the hospital several times to check on me in the second day and ensured I would be promptly discharged as I requested. He saved my life. Without this surgery my days were clearly numbered. Nobody will know for certain how long my life has been extended but certainly it has been. And thanks to Dr. Peeran and his confident and winning skills with his patients, I can look forward to an improved quality of life for the time I have left in this world. He may be a highly successful surgeon but Dr. Peeran is a human being. I felt he spoke to me with the same respect I showed him. He treated me as an equal. It was one of the many things that made me feel confident I had the right surgeon for the job.

I assured them that I had scheduled with them over the phone. Their excuse this time was that they had just implemented a new scheduling system and were still working the bugs out. So, while standing in their lobby and speaking with their receptionist, I rescheduled my appointment for 3/19/24. So yesterday, being 3/19, I went to their office for my appointment. Imagine my surprise when they were no longer at that location! A handwritten note was on the office door said that they had moved and if I needed help, to call their office. No new address, nor phone number, was provided on the note. By the way, their website still has not been updated with the new location either. Since I had the number, I called it. After multiple attempts to get thru to an actual person, and not a recording, I spoke with the receptionist who informed me that they had called everyone and notified them of the move. Needless to say, I didn't receive a call. One additional note is that I received an appointment reminder, via email, for my 3/19 appointment on 3/4. While speaking with the receptionist, she looked in the system and said that I had no appointment scheduled for the 19th! I would not recommend this office to anyone if this is the way that they operate. Very unprofessional and no consideration of their clients/patients. Needless to say, I will not be going back to Portsmouth Pulmonary Associates. I normally do not go online and post negative reviews, but this was over the top.

I am sorry to write a negative review but this is well deserved…read more This is the most un professional establishment. I am a patient person. I arrived at the prescribed time for my appointment, filled ou the obligatory paper work ( 10 mins ) and 25 minutes later i had still not been served. I got a request from recptionist to take a call from the Exeter office. I was told i would not be able to take the physical as Eric had taken my BP and it was high. ( mind you i have been in waiting room ) no one took my BP Additionaly the rude lady from exeter informed me i needed to get more paper work from my cardiologist and a letter. so there was no appointment no apology for any thing they may have had to do with this. I was told i needed to come back at another time to get the physical. Further i never got a call back when i left message to scheduele my appointment. i had to call 3 x to get a time This group needs a professional to manage this out of control practice. By the way ther were no other patients waiting or scheduled excpet for me... so disrepectful of any one elses time....not even an apology.....sorry they suck. do go here if you like being treated like garbage.
