In my initial outreach, I explicitly stated that this was a virtual consultation and outlined the scope in detail. Ryan responded that he could handle the work and was interested. We confirmed logistics multiple times, including the evening before and again the morning of the appointment. My client rearranged her schedule, and I rearranged mine to coordinate a live virtual walkthrough at the property. Ryan did not arrive at the agreed-upon time. After the scheduled time passed, I called -- no answer. I sent a message asking him to confirm arrival -- no response. Two and a half hours later, he sent a message stating he had been "warned to stay away from these types of jobs" and apologized. There was no prior indication of hesitation, concern, or limitation in scope. If he was unwilling or uncomfortable with the nature of the job, that should have been communicated before confirming and causing both myself and my client to restructure our day. Reliability and communication are non-negotiable in client-facing industries. Unfortunately, this experience demonstrated neither. I cannot recommend based on this interaction. ***Update*** *Ryan attempted to dodge accountability by replying on Thumbtack that he was not given a clear scope. I also requested they completely take all the plants and vines out of one specific area that went from the front of our garage to our gate. Last but not least I had them replace the two poles that are holding up our pergola that is over our concrete patio. It has been there for over 30 years. It's almost like a Ripley's believe it or not anyway they also re-stained all of it, including the new posts and it looks great. I'm looking forward to a few more estimates that I have requested. They did a good job on everything. I'm not sure if they were well-versed in windows in terms of washing. I have double paned windows and I believe that caused an issue. They had mentioned they were going to have to go out and get the supplies to do the windows. I have had them done in the past and most of the people that I hired used squeegees. I feel like they came out as good as they could have considering the double pane windows in that there are sometimes things inside that you cannot remove. They also did a great job cleaning up the windowsills. They were more than willing to work with me to help me stay within my budget. They did the staining and replacing the posts of the pergola on Saturday. They said they would be here at 10 and they absolutely were right on the dot- we experienced the same thing with Monday when they finished up all the rest of the projects they arrived at 8 AM and worked all day finishing around 5 PM. There were a total of five employees all working at once. I highly recommend them!

The day they were supposed to come, I got a call asking if they could come earlier, within 20 minutes of the call because, in his words, "that would be more convenient for them." I said, "Please wear a mask while on the property." The contractor responded with, "Okay." I tried to be flexible, moved my schedule around, and began waiting. No one showed up after 40 minutes. I called again, and this time the contractor said that he wasn't coming because his company didn't require employees to wear a mask, and they didn't want to take the contract as a result. He never called me to inform me of this change after he spoke to his company. I had to call him after waiting for 40 minutes for him to show up. He never apologized. Also, we're still in a pandemic. If someone asks you to take precautions while you're on their property, you be a decent person and do that. He would have just ghosted me after I moved things around upon his request.
