I am a bit of a fanatic about Ethiopian food. That being the case, I am not sure that I could tell…read morethe difference between that and Eritrean food... I have been delightedly stuffing myself without knives and forks on the likes for years now.
On one hand, I am happy that such a place exists in Darmstadt. The food itself was quite good. The portions, though, were somewhat small for my Western appetite.
The place DOES offer, though, quite the Lion King ambience, complete with (somewhat loud) tribal-sounding music, very nature-preserve-looking benches and chairs, and decidedly ethnic-seeming waitresses. All in all, the experience is one worth noting, especially in the somewhat homogeneously milky Darm-a-tropolis.
Make sure to make a reservation, though. Darmstadt is full of yuppies with little imagination and practically no thirst for real adventure. (I.e., Frankfurt is but a hop, skip, and a jump away, people.)
