This was my first visit to Cedar Ridge Dragway, and it will not be my last visit. I made my two…read morehour drive to race my truck "Old Blue". I paid my $20 entry fee and signed in giving information on my truck on a liability waver. Then I was truck # 13. I got information and safety instructions from the tract manager. My first two races were a flop before I got used to the automated sensors that activated the "Christmas Tree" with the green light that started my time. This is an 1/8 mile drag-strip. The racing started at 2 PM; and at 4 PM the tract was limited to the big boy vehicle matchups for the very loud "not street legal" cars and trucks. After that the tract was open for all to race. I kicked in the supercharger on Old Blue and my best time was under seven seconds. This was a big thrill for me racing and I will return this spring to race my faster white truck.

I've heard of the Cattle Barons' Gala for years, as my in-laws generally go every year. Now that I…read morelive in east Texas, I had to find out what all the buzz was about. Immediately, I was impressed, as this is an extremely well organized event, and it's put together in a very classy manner, even though it takes place on a ranch, somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Possibly where God left his shoe. Who knows? All jokes aside, the Rio Neches Ranch is a beautiful place. The demographics: Predominately upper class white folk. Or, as the mainstream media would negatively say, A bunch of elitist, "privileged," white, gun toting, Republicans. To their dismay, the ethnic cleansing of the evil white race (e.g. open borders) hasn't fully come to fruition...just yet. The event itself featured a silent auction, better than expected food, catered by John Soules Food, a bar with all types of liquor, margarita machines, and troughs filled with beer. Live music was highlighted by Joe Nichols. I'm not really a country music fan, but he was really good. The crowd was great, no fights- hence the demographics {wink}. With so many CC holders in one place, at one time, how could this be? {Media shaking their heads} Once again, humor aside, the most important aspect of this event, is that the proceeds go to a good cause: American Cancer Society. It was a great, fun filled event, that I will definitely attend again next year.

Such a nice out-of-the-way & off-the-beaten-path place for a theatre. I came here to see "39 Steps"…read moreseveral months ago. Last night I came with a group of other single ladies in the area, since they had an extra ticket for "Legally Blonde". It was weird that to check in to this location, I had to step outside. People were saying that the metal building blocks phone signals. But it was a wonderful play! It was difficult to get in & out of the parking lot, & it may get crowded out there. But I hope to go to other plays here!

It is a cool needed museum. It covers more than just aviation. It includes sections of periods of…read morehistory, wars, equipment, memorials,simulations a library snd much more. The planes outside are fascinating and show the changes in history and technology. The docents are very knowledgeable and patient. Take your time and stroll through it. Lots of memorials and one of a kind pieces. Great photo ops too. It has a small gift shop area. In the same building is a cafe with good food. If you like travel, history and/ or planes this is a great stop. Limited days and hours do check their website.

Only set back was the length of time to get your food. Fries could have been more done. But the guy Troy behind the bar was a SWEETHEART!!!
