We looked for other things to do in the area and stumbled on a listing for Ridge Creek Ranch Wine bar. This is a brand new winery, just opened in early June 2026. There are some twists and turns to get there - lots of signage though, so don't turn back. The property itself is beautiful! If it hadn't been so hot, we would have spent the afternoon on the large covered patio. Inside, the space is great - big, open, lots of comfortable seating, either at the large bar or seated anywhere. We asked about tastings and their wine flight came out in these cute stands! (See photo) Their menu of wines has something for every palate. We loved almost everything we tried and stayed to enjoy extra glasses before taking bottles home. The owners, Lisa and Tony, were fun and happy to chat with us about how they got into the wine business, and their plans for the future. We wish them the best and will definitely visit again if we're in the area!

Last night I came with a group of other single ladies in the area, since they had an extra ticket for "Legally Blonde". It was weird that to check in to this location, I had to step outside. People were saying that the metal building blocks phone signals. But it was a wonderful play! It was difficult to get in & out of the parking lot, & it may get crowded out there. But I hope to go to other plays here!

I came out here to watch a (TVCC--Trinity Valley Community College) Lady Cardinals softball game…read morethat actually got rescheduled. But the field looked nice & so did the stands (some covered & shaded, some open--bring a hat or umbrella for those hotter or rainier days!). There are restrooms with multiple stalls nearby, which are OK for public restrooms at a softball/baseball complex. The concession stand also accepts credit/debit cards, which is good for the 21st Century, since less & less people carry cash these days. I wouldn't mind going to a future game here.

KEEP IN MIND, Scream 7 is a rated R movie. Tell me why there are a group of children, appearing to be middle school and younger running around the entire time. Up and down the stairs, taking pictures of the movie with their flash on, disrupting the movie by loud cussing and obnoxious laughing is tense moments, and throwing popcorn. This was extremely frustrating and annoying considering that just by looking at the children they were not old enough to be in the theater at all. Tickets should be checked along with ID before entering rated R movies to prevent children ruining experiences. Highly disappointing.

HUGE parking lot, very cheap, and be prepared to spend a few hours here. While there is a snack bar, there are some fantastic near by restaurants.

I recently visited Schulman's Movie Bowl Grille in Corsicana with my kids to see the new Supergirl…read moremovie on a Friday evening in late June. I was genuinely excited because we have a Schulman's theater in my hometown called Film Alley, and it's absolutely beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. I was expecting a similar experience, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The moment we walked inside, we were hit with a strong musty, stagnant smell. The air felt heavy, warm, and humid. On a Texas summer day, the last thing you expect is for a movie theater to feel warmer inside than outside. The lobby has some nice features, including an arcade, what looked like a cornhole area, and the ticket and concession counter. However, the layout feels very cramped. As soon as you walk through the front doors, there's very little space before you're right in the middle of the ticket line and concession area. With people constantly coming in and others waiting to buy tickets, drinks, popcorn, and snacks, it quickly becomes crowded and difficult to move around comfortably. As we looked around while waiting in line, I also noticed how dirty everything seemed. This wasn't just a few pieces of popcorn on the floor after a movie. It looked like the floors hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in quite some time, which only added to the disappointing first impression. After getting our tickets, we waited in the hallway for our theater. The smell became even stronger, especially near the restrooms, and the warmth was even more noticeable. It was honestly unpleasant. We decided to stay since we had already paid for our tickets. Once inside the theater, it was still very warm, and the odor hadn't improved. One thing I did like was the QR code ordering system. It was easy to scan and browse the menu. I ordered a chicken wrap, fries, and a Diet Coke, while my son ordered popcorn and candy. Unfortunately, the ordering system has some issues. There was no option to request basic items like ketchup, ranch, barbecue sauce, napkins, utensils, or even extra items after placing the order, despite the app saying you could. That's something that definitely needs improvement. Our food arrived about 20 minutes later, which was perfectly reasonable. The fries were actually very good. However, we weren't given any ketchup, napkins, utensils, or condiments of any kind. To make matters worse, my Diet Coke had been filled so full that when the employee handed it to me, it spilled all over me and my son. Since we hadn't been given any napkins, there was no way to clean it up. Then my son was told they were out of the candy he originally ordered. He picked Reese's Peanut Butter Cups instead, but when he opened them, they were completely melted. Throughout the movie, I kept trying to order napkins through the QR code system, but there simply wasn't an option. One thing that also surprised me was how easily we could hear the movie playing in the theater next door during our movie's quiet scenes. I've honestly never experienced that before--not even at discount theaters. There were definitely some positives. The movie itself was great, the fries were delicious, and spending time with my kids made the evening enjoyable despite everything else. However, I think this theater has several areas that need immediate attention: * Fix the air conditioning. Texas summers are too hot for a warm theater. * Find and eliminate the musty odor, especially around the restroom area. * Improve overall cleanliness throughout the building. * Update the QR ordering system to allow guests to request napkins, utensils, and condiments. * Make sure concession items are stocked and candy is stored properly. If you plan on eating here, I'd honestly recommend bringing your own wet wipes or napkins just in case, because we weren't provided any. I really wanted to love this theater because I've had such wonderful experiences with another Schulman's location. Sadly, this visit was disappointing from the moment we walked in until the time we left. Overall, I'd give this location 1 out of 5 stars. The movie was great, the fries were tasty, and I enjoyed spending time with my kids, but the cleanliness, odor, lack of air conditioning, and poor food service experience made this a theater I probably won't return to unless significant improvements are made.

Wow! This newly-renovated & reopened event venue is just amazing! When I first moved to Athens, I…read moreknow I saw the closed-down version of the place at a distance. It always intrigued me. But I was thrilled to know that they reopened it for multi-purpose events. I first came during the soft opening during the Fiddlers' Reunion weekend & saw a live concert happening. I also came for the "Art On The Bricks" event. It's neat that they can move the stage, since for the soft opening the stage was on the right brick wall (with the audience portable fold-out chairs situated so that the left & right were further apart than the front & back), & for "Art On The Bricks" the stage was on the back wall (with the windows & view of the town square parking lot behind it). For the art show, there was more space to look at tables of displayed artwork, munch on finger foods (catered by Railway Cafe, next door), sip on drinks (wine, water, or tea), & you could mingle around or sit down (upstairs in the balcony or at some standing-friendly downstairs tables). The restrooms are also nice, & very well-maintained, with plenty of multiple stalls. The upstairs balcony is really neat. It's a great place to sit & eat at small tables (or move them together for bigger groups), or you can sit at a bar-like table overlooking the balcony if you have a smaller group. Overlooking the balcony was an incredible view! I'm staying posted on future events held here, because I definitely want to keep coming back!
