Sagamar Inn is as good as they come for an overnight stay around these parts; run by good hard-working family who's just making a living in this great State and doesn't gouge too badly when everybody else has no vacancy. AI tech structures, Small Modular Reactors, Solar, and other alternative power has moved into west Texas, all these workers need a place to stay and filling up all the motels. Plan accordingly and keep your expectations for comfort, rest and sleep in a simple country perspective.

However to my surprise none of the above were true. I found a very clean room, very comfortable bed and pillows. This is a gem of a small motel. The only complaint was the wifi was to weak to connect my tablet or phone. I reported this to the front desk and they had no idea that it was not working properly and were very concerned. I'm going to try really hard to be kind because the owners seem like good people, but I also have to be brutally honest. I'm not sure how this place is getting 5 star reviews. The owners described it as a "working man's motel", and I understand that. If you're truly looking for an inexpensive place to lay your head, this place is fine I guess? But if you're looking for any kind of comfort, you'd be better off finding an Airbnb in the area. We honestly would have been more comfortable camping.... The pictures on hotels.com, etc, are misleading. They make it seem much nicer than it is. The overwhelming scent of Fabuloso can't hide the fact that the floors are dirty (the picture is my socks after walking around for a few hours) and there are holes in the walls. We were only given one towel, the tv picture was fuzzy and the remote didn't work. The refrigerator was dirty and sticky inside. Uncomfortable mattress with springs poking out, and flat pillows. The description also states that they serve breakfast from 6-9am. There was no breakfast. If that was something that needed to be arranged beforehand, that needs to be stated in the description. The only reason I gave it more than one star is because it was very affordable, and I'm sure the owners work very hard, but if you don't have the resources to properly maintain a motel, you should probably go into another line of business.

I had room to which was downstairs by the stairway. The room is nicely sized and decorated. The bathroom what is a good size as well with a standup shower, pedestal sink, commode and decorated with stainless steel siding. There's an air conditioner in the room and thankfully located right by the bed to my liking!!! The bed was very comfortable and once again the decor was beautiful. The night I was there they were a number of bird hunters staying in the lodge. I was expecting to hear talking, mouse, them climbing the stairs etc. However I found it very quiet and I slept extremely well. This was a unique and wonderful find and I'm so glad I was able to stay! It was awesome meeting you Donna and I hope to see you again!

Locals call it a flea bag of a hotel, which turned us off intitially... until we actually stayed there out of convienence. We liked it so much, we've ended up making it our choice when we come to visit. It is an older building, but it is cute in its own way. Each room has its own carport, which is nice in the hot summer. The rooms are clean and well kept. There is free wifi, which is a plus. Each room we have stayed in has included: a mini-fridge, microwave, flat screen TV, telephone, shower stall bathroom, desk area, firm beds, A/C and heat- to name a few things. It is definitely well worth the cheap price. We recently paid roughly $90 for two full nights on a busy weekend- which isn't that bad for what you get. Since this is pretty much the only running hotel in town and since it is on the outskirts, it isn't a suprise why the locals would call it what they do. However, I must say that I will disagree. It is definitely akin to any other major chain hotel you may stay in any given trip- it just looks different on the outside.
