first of all my main aggravation came from the fact they'd treat my wife like she was a lesser than being. never answering her calls acting like she was annoying them when she genuinely just wanted our house to be operable. and mind you we bought a NEW build from these guys. everyone contracted to come work did amazing. Roy however was a constant issue. hooked water up to a random pipe in the ground(never tested or looked if it was water) . buried 3/4 of our septic tank under the pad. charged us 1800$ to remove 2 four foot tall trees. pushed dirt and trash right next to our house and then acted like we were the problem for trying to have it fixed. I truly believe they just wanted to sell and forget about us. I'd do a lot more research before getting stuck with a million issues that they'd refuse to fix on their own dime. We believe Roy Henly is being untruthful, using threats, coercion, lies & lining his pockets with with the customers money. I do not mean this as slander, these are my experiences and suspicions. During Roy's site visit to the property, he brought his son. He said to his son "this is a perfect dirt pad to learn on because it is difficult". We set our dates for delivery for the end of August. On August 7th, Roy says that he has rescheduled the dirt delivery for the upcoming Saturday. Although we wanted to get into our new home early, it wasn't possible. We told Roy & he became extremely agitated & threatening. He said that if we didn't close soon, our interest rate would go up. That's a lie, dirt cannot be delivered until after closing. Next threat: if we didn't do it on the upcoming weekend that it could be months. When pushed for the next date, he admitted that it could be done that coming Monday. His staff told me that the house would only appraise for $90k, no septic, dirt pad or skirting in the loan. Then Roy called and contradicted that. Everyone will give you a different answer to the same question, then get upset saying that you're twisting their words. The threats, urgency to close, and the fallacies made us suspicious. We started getting quotes to compare. We asked Henly to send us the quotes that they had but they replied that they didn't have any. The dirt pad was Roy's son and the Septic is their "turn key" price. I told them that I cannot close until I have a breakdown of the costs. They came back with a breakdown on their own company letter head. They quoted the dirt pad as $4500 Total-$3500 for Dirt & $1000 Labor. This was not in line with the other quotes. They immediately sent over the breakdown for the septic that they previously stated that they didn't have. And then the quote on the closing docs labeled "Oncor" for $3800. They said we might be confused because it says Oncor but it's not. It's what they charge to put in a pole & hook up the AC. It has nothing to do with Oncor and no money goes to Oncor. The check gets written out to Roy. The material/labor is not even close to $3800. This is just another example of how Roy might be lining his pockets. We called and explained that we feel as if we're being lied to. He started ranting about how I called his staff liars. I won't be yelled at so I hung up and called back after a few minutes. Same again but much angrier so we hung up again. We then received the following text messages: "I'm done dude. I am not selling you this house......this sale isn't worth it to me." We replied that we agree and to send our $500 earnest money back to us by check. He replied with "Nice try, dude" and "not happening" and "Hire an attorney". He called us scammers and said that we do this all over town. He said that he would contact Triad (financing company) on Monday and that he was going to send the texts and transcripts to Triad to see what fees were owed and send us the remainder, if any. The office told us originally that the $500 was to save the house. We could back out at any time for any reason and get the full $500 back. We spoke to Triad & discovered that Roy never gave them our money. There were no penalties, of course. We sent an email to Roy and copied the licensing board that holds his license to sell and explained what happened. I gave him 15 days to send a check. We received an email back immediately saying that we could come and pick up our check. It seems that if I did not get the authorities involved, he would have tried to swindle me out of my $500. Roy's egocentricity is so strong that he will likely reply to the facts of this review with justification and argumentation for every issue. read more

The process was anything but problem-free, smooth sailing, but Roy, and his staff at Henly Homes were there every step of the way to handle everything, and even went the extra mile when the electric company left the job half done. This first part is from before the house was placed and we had problems! We were buying land through our own realtor and it wasn't a smooth or quick process as all but everyone at Henly has been wonderful! Lacy has made sure to stay in contact throughout the loan process and let me know exactly what she needs from me and when. And Roy got our pad in place as soon as we closed on the property and the house there shortly after that! I wrote my original review the day our house was put in place, should have waited a few days! Everything was great up til the pad and house trim out. We had Henly do our pad and it wasn't done high enough so after the first rain a few days after the house was placed one of the concrete peers washed out. It took about a month of phone calls and finally going down to his office for my husband to get him to admit that is wasn't done correctly but that he had under bid the job and there wasn't anything he could do. so we ended up having to fix the dirt ourselves. The trim out work in the house had be redone as well after we pitched a fit because we bought a brand new house from them and it looked like crap. He came out to the house to see it and tried to make excuses to not fix it but we stood firm. There is NO reason the door trim should not be cut to the same angle as the factory trimmed doors and there was no reason his guys should have left wall trim hanging off the wall undone that came loose during the move. we are very glad to be done with Henly now! read more

The staff was very big help and very knowledgeable on the financing options that were available for my wife and I. The refurbish process was very easy for me and my family. While they were working on the home I was able to go up there anytime and look at the progress of my home. The owner himself actually came to my property and looked and my land! There were very helpful all the way through the process and I very much recommended them! I bought my house from Ashley but everyone was helpful if she wasn't available! read more

Henly Homes has made my dreams come true! I can't say enough about how well we have been treated and taken care of by Mr Roy Henly! He exceeded ALL MY EXPECTATIONS! I expected the the absolute worst ( I CANNOT STAND CAR SALESMEN and I thought a mobile home salesman would be even worse) but this Gentleman has been the most professional and down to earth person I have ever had the pleasure of working with! He and his staff were the best and although it took way too long ( our fault because our land wasn't ready before the monsoon of rain started last year) as soon as Mr Henly said that the land was dry enough to do the "pad" he was ON IT!!! Mr. Henly did all the preparation for the pad and all of the leveling out of our property himself and all of the pad also. The Professionalism of this company has just been AMAZING!
