My favorite bar in the world. Absolutely nails the atmosphere I look for -- enough space and seating, no loud music, bright but not too bright, and a great beer selection. The bartender (whose dad opened the place) was friendly and helpful -- and patient as we picked out our beers. There was a solid crowd there but everyone had plenty of space. Go here if you want to have a peaceful, enjoyable beer in a great setting. 10/10. read more

Craft beer heaven! This has got to be a one of a kind thing in Norway.. Bergen was our first stop so we were lucky to drink here but after leaving Bergen, there was no other place like it. Even stopping at the Ægir brewery in Flåm, they had less than 10 beers on tap while Henrik had almost 50! Not only that, they have a really great variety of unique flavors like an Imperial Stout with Guava.. You read that right! They don't offer flights, which is unfortunate, but even though they only have 1 price per beer on their menu, the bartender told us we could get the smaller 0.3L pours. We went that route so we could try several different beers. Also great at giving recommendations if you're torn between beers as you definitely will be with the tremendous variety. Skål! read more

This was such a great, cozy, little pub! We just stopped in for a drink. They have a great craft beer selection and a few cider options as well. The bar tender was friendly and offered some suggestions to us since they are not allowed to give samples. I had a very good tart raspberry cider and my husband enjoyed his IPA. The other customers were friendly and chatting with us about our travels as well. I would definitely recommend stopping in here for a drink when visiting Bergen! read more

This may be the BEST place for beer in Bergen. They have over 50 items on tap....on TAP! The prices are also a bit cheaper than other places because they actually give you a full pour here versus a tiny @$$ 12 ouncer. A must try for any beer lovers in Bergen! I stopped by here right before my flight to booze up before taking off (I'm a nervous flyer, what do you expect) and I was not disappointed. The bartender was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about each of their over 50 craft beer selections. The few beers I tried were spot on to what I was feeling and it was quite a treat tasting beers from parts of Norway and Denmark which I have visited! The bartender even gave my friend and I a little beer 101 since we are somewhat new to the craft beer game and gave us suggestions of breweries to visit back in Copenhagen. The crowd seemed to be primarily regular locals who are easy to stir up some conversation with - perfect for getting some hints and tips of what to do in the city. I left this place full of beer knowledge, good conversation, (free) peanuts, awesome beer and just tipsy enough to get through my flight. Skål! read more

A bit of background for context... I'm from New England and had the fortunate opportunity to travel to Bergen many times for work (awesome colleagues there.) When you're traveling for work sometimes you're looking for some unique local culture and sometimes you're looking for a little piece of home. Henrik is a place that, for me, blended the best of both. As a craft beer fan from the US that really loves DIPA's and NE Style IPAs, it can sometimes be difficult to find exactly what you're looking for when traveling. Henriks does not disappoint. Not only do they have the best craft beer selection in Bergen (50 taps sourced from around the world) they provide an impeccable experience for folks wanting to enjoy a fine beverage in a low-key environment. Now, for the kicker... Every single bartender that served me at Henriks was amazing. Just the kind of person you want behind the bar when you're with a group or alone (as I was many times) respectful, inquisitive, responsive to my questions. I'm sure I would bore you if I said any more than this. Here's to the amazing proprietor, Johnny, and his staff for allowing us Americans to enjoy a good beer and make some friends from Northern Europe. I'll see if I can upload a few pics including one of my beloved Henrik's glass (given after asking if I could buy one.) You guys are the best. The Cheers of Norway! Authentic Norwegian pub with a local clientele. The owner is a wonderful, knowledgeable bartender and very fun to talk with on a variety of subjects. My wife and I had a lovely afternoon sampling his wide selection of local beers on tap and chatting with him. Highly recommend for an authentic experience. Note that no food is served. Great pub, perfect for catching up and getting out of the rain in Bergen. It's bare bones in its decor - everything here is about the beer and catching up with friends. It feels very local, and the staff is extraordinarily helpful in helping you decide which beer to get. I like my bars to be a little livelier, with music and ambiance, so this is not the best place for me to go regularly. However, if you love good beer such that it's the #1 thing you care about in a bar, then this is the place for you. read more

Loved this place. First things first, before you come here you should know what this is. It is an excellent pub with a large selection on tap. That is it. No music, no dancing, no food. It's a straight-up pub meant for having a few pints with some friends and trying interesting beers. Simple concept, deceptively difficult to execute. Came here, had some requests, and the bartender steered me right every time. Reasonable prices, great selection, reliable bartenders. I'd come here again and again if I lived in the area. read more

Great little beer bar around downtown Bergen. They had about 50ish beers on tap, with quite a few being from western Norway. Not having a bunch of time to tour around and get the beer from the source, it was great to have a central location to sample some really quality beers. Fifty international craft beers on tap, and really great conversation with the owner, Johny (sp.?). The guy knows his shit cold--very knowledgeable. This is not a craft beer pub in the true sense. In fact, I am not sure what they trying to be. No atmosphere, no music, devoid of any character including the barman. The 54 beers on tap scribbled in chalk on a board is there point of difference. There are far better bars/pubs in Bergen than this place which is only interested in the local market. On vacation in Bergen, we were looking for a craft beer bar and we were blown away by Henrik. This bar is amazing! The best selection of craft beer in Norway, wonderful environment and excellent staff! Johnny served us all night and made our experience wonderful. He told us stories about different brews as well as being responsible for regularly driving to Denmark to pick up many of Henrik's one of a kind batches. The company at Henrik was also wonderful. We met a great guy, Rangar, who was an avid space shuttle fan which was near and dear to hearts. Wonderful conversations about space and homebrew with Rangar. I cannot recommend this place enough. It is a must for any craft beer fan in Bergen. read more
